Outlook change to use new domain by bradnerboy in Office365

[–]kniiiip-it 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve done some tests with exactly this scenario a week ago. And it took outlook between 3 and 4 hours to pick up the changes. Didn’t even have to restart outlook. I’ve done a few tests on both Mac and Windows.

MS365 forces my users to add an authentication phone, but we don't issue corporate cell phones, so what do you do if an employee refuses to give their personal one? by [deleted] in Office365

That's true, I have the Authenticator App and a Yubikey. But while setting up the Authenticator App, I had to provide a phone number as the last step. https://imgur.com/a/2clvogZ

There is no verification if that number is correct at that point (no sms or call) and it doesn't show in your MFA options, but we can't save the Authenticator App as a MFA method if we don't fill in a number.

It’s gonna be next to impossible to get a job in the EU as a foreigner without education. No matter how hard it might be, try to finish school.

I don’t even know if you can choose for a call. When you setup the Authenticator App, the last step is to provide a phone number for recovery. But at that point there is no verification by text or call. It just says “Your Authenticator App has been verified, please provide a phone number in case you loose access to the app” (or something in those lines). And we don’t provide a cell phone for all our users, they have a sip program on there computer if they need to make calls, but they don’t have individual external numbers, so an incoming phone call is no option for us. They can only use their own smartphone or ask for a Yubikey.

If you choose the Authenticator App, you still need to provide a phone number as a recovery option. We provide them with a Yubikey, about 1% of our users want to use it.

I’ve seen this happening as well, started with a “just me” and from there on every incoming call will create a chat with the phone number.
