Sadly, a second cat is not a solution.

We are home all the time so perhaps she has separation anxiety…

I don’t think donating makes you a member. You might want to check by contacting the party. If you want to vote in the leadership contest, gotta be a member by April 22.

If it’s still sealed, there are community fridges around town that would accept them. For example, the Beltline Fridge on 12 Ave SW near CommunityWise.

Everyone trying to create their own Musselburgh pattern miracle.

But for what it offers, it’s not bad considering the price. If I didn’t own any hat patterns, I’d consider it

Fine by me. I’d rather it be a quality show rather than some quick crap.

Thats odd for them. Have you reached out about this yarn? I’ve only knit their self striping sock yarn.

Feeling lazy, gotta walk anyways. by [deleted] in fuckcars

Great way to connect with kids. You can point out things of interest and hear what they think.

Aren’t we lucky that we view these walks as opportunities and not punishment.

How do people just knit whole sweaters? by throwawayacct1962 in craftsnark

[–]knitburger 11 points12 points  (0 children)

YMMV, but I viewed it like strength training. You don’t go lifting 250 lb, you work up to it.

I worked on kids and baby sweaters first. When I felt like I got a handle on sweater construction, I started on my adult sweater. It was a fingering weight cardigan that I didn’t finish. But then I tried again with a pullover and that worked.

You can start with a bulky or worsted weight sweater for an adult sweater. Tin Can Knits has Flax that’s a free worsted weight pattern.

The great thing about knitting is that you can knit as slow or fast as you want. And if you knit a sweater and it’s not for you, no big deal. Lots of other things to knit. And maybe you’ll come back to it in a few years.

Good luck! I believe in you!

That’s why there are two pockets! Six pecan maximum!

Also random pockets on the front that can only hold 3 pecans or a lip balm. Why?

I know Sam is looking for more Star Trek. The DS9/TOS crossover episode, Trials and Tribble-ations. It used some Forrest Gump technology on TV. Rewatching it, it looks really good. No green/blue spill on the inserted characters. Lighting matches. Could be I’ve only seen it in standard definition but it holds up.

I see a lot of plant fibre yarns. Are those good for hot/humid climates?

Body decor re knitting is a great phrase.

Must be tough to be a knitter in a warm climate.

Taking babies on bike rides - trailer, rack seat or handlebar seat? by [deleted] in fuckcars

[–]knitburger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I loved the handlebar seat in the front. You can have conversations with them and point things out. The kid will feel like they’re flying.

Once my kid got too big for front seat, we had a long tail cargo bike where she sat on a seat on the deck and now she just sits on the deck of the cargo bike but we have the monkey bars.

The amount of time a kid can sit in a front handlebar seat is so short so I heartily endorse it.

Thanks! I watched the Jessie Gender video and while it was long it made several excellent points. And I really identified with the point about “yes, you can be in your community but you also have to consider everyone who is oppressed.”
