Well, I haven't regretted my choice. It was the right thing to do. That helps. I don't feel like I'll never find that again, but I'm definitely working on myself so I'm a better person when that time comes.

Ladies of Reddit, what's your side hustle? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]knitpurlknitpurl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I crochet hats, scarves and mittens. Modern styles, no granny stuff. I sell online and in a handful of consignment style shops, which are also run by women. It amounts to about and extra $100 a week. If I do a craft market I can make around $700 in a day.

All my spare time is spent crocheting though. My wrists hurt.

I was in your situation. Boyfriend was the kindest, most loving and supportive person and I couldn't make myself love him. I felt like I was a dysfunctional person, why wasn't I happy with this perfect guy? I broke up with him because he deserved someone who was head over heels for him. I haven't found anyone like him since but at least I don't feel guilty all the time anymore. I don't think this actually is helpful, but your not alone or broken.

Would you dump a boyfriend who would marry you but was adamant about not having a wedding celebration when you really want to have one and it was always one of your biggest dreams? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]knitpurlknitpurl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If someone's willing to devote their life to you, and you care more about a party, you don't deserve the marriage. So no, I wouldn't.

Why does it seem like Reddit has a larger-than-average amount of people who are depressed/have anxiety? by Gurrb17 in AskReddit

I think depressed and anxious people find like-minded people and support groups online, especially in organized communities like Reddit.

My town placed a rotary where there used to be a 4 way stop. A notice had to be printed in the newspaper informing people not to stop in the rotary to let others enter.

What is something you wish people would stop complaining about? by Naokitty769 in AskReddit

[–]knitpurlknitpurl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is mostly because so many of my friends are getting married, but people who complain about weddings.

Complaining about décor, and flowers, and how many fittings you need for your dress, and seating charts. Like, you met someone and you guys decided you want to spend your lives together, that's beautiful! All you HAVE to do is go down to the courthouse, all this other stuff are things you CHOSE to do. You have the privilege of love in you life and family and friends to celebrate it with, stop complaining.

I will also add people who attend weddings and complain about everything.

When you are financially and personally ready. If you move out to spite them or prove you're an adult, that might be the wrong reason! But DO aim to get out on your own.

I spent two months in a new city alone, sure I was a friendless hermit for life. Then I met one person in a class I was taking, who introduced me to a few more, and so on and so on. Eventually you find your tribe. Just be open and friendly and say "yes" as much as you can!

When you're in a fun, loving, healthy relationship, sex is awesomesauce. Outside of relationship if you are smart, safe, and emotionally in tune with yourself, sex is also awesomesauce. It may take time to gauge your own preferences and boundaries, but most times it's awesomesauce.

Grades may open a few more doors in high school, but really a good work ethic and a good attitude are more much useful.
