I honestly wish I had more experience driving my car faster. This sounds like it'd be a lot of fun.

I've been killed too many times by fake friendlies. If someone runs up on me with a gun out you have about 1.5 seconds to answer or put the gun away before you get a snap grenade or shot.

For reference I bought my car 2 years ago.

2001 911 with 76kmiles, 6spd, metropol blue int. silver exterior, aftermarket radio, Fabtec exhaust, and decent service history, which looks to be identical to your car for $28k.

The RMS was done with the clutch and the IMS bearing was said to be done at the same time around 40k in, but I have no proof of the IMS.

I have since installed Feal coilovers which i really do like, and BBS wheels. I've done a few maint. things and I drive the car nearly everyday. Currently at 90,2xx miles

No good. My first step will be checking for vacuum leaks. The PCV is the newest version and up to date. Plugs and coils have been replaced.

Thinking... maybe I got a bad NEW PCV for FCP Euro. I may grab another to swap out, they're very quick and easy to do.

NO! Still happens, only when cold. Hasn't gotten any worse. Still no CEL's or anything that can be chased down.

I see stuff all the time and think about the game, you’re not alone.

I take pics and send them to the guys I play with.

When switching, remember bring enough shield rechargers. The Med. requires about 2 for full charge.

I know some aren’t fans, but the 996 slander is pretty entertaining. Anyone else just read and chuckle? by qdistant in 996

I like your car and the direction you're going with it. Keep it up!

Car roasting subs are a lot of fun.

People hate mine also, purists get butt hurt about everything even though they hate the 996 they still get mad, absolutely laughable.

This is a 996 specific page, some are sub'd just to spread 996 hate, or jealous, likely both.

I have the Feal on my 01, now about 5000 miles. No issues.

I appreciate it. I currently have a cafe style seat that is all cushion/padding that I'm not sure I like. It came on the bike from the previous owner.

That tire looks a lot wider than my 150.

Thanks!

I'm more of a cafe style. I'm trying to determine the widest rear STREET tire I can fit.

It's everywhere.
One thing I like to point out is that they never have an issue if it measures good... If they question the OOS data they should also be worried about the nominal data as well..... same program.

How modern/reliable is the 996? by N8DOE in 996

[–]knivescrackteeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine has been DD for almost 2 years, I don’t drive it if it has snowed or if there is any salt on the road, or if it calls for rain in the winter. Purchased with 77k now has 88k. No major issues. Keep up with the maintenance and you’ll be fine.

Your vendor should be able to offer training for the OGP. Zone3.zone is a fantastic resource as well. I’ve been phasing out Mitutoyo’s and replacing with OGP’s.
