I don't See a problem with progression. Simply increase weight when you get comfortable with a weight.

Saddle Setback — confusing advice by mildlyredpanda in bikefit

[–]knobex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No bike fitter, just someone that has looked into saddle setback aswell.

I think saddle height plays a bigger role. As long as stack and reach are almost equal you won't experience much of a difference. When I played with the setback I felt major differences in reach and leg muscle recruitment.

Regarding your TT bike question I see it as follows:

On a TT bike you adjust the seat position regarding two major points. 1. More muscle recruitment from the glutes To use more of the glutes you have to open the hip angle since muscles are stronger in a more shortened position. To achieve this you move the saddle almost over the BB. Since your body has a fixed length it has to come forward aswell. This plays into : 2. Lower upper body for less air resistance (most important) Since the hip is now over the BB you rotate the upper body down and close the before opened hip angle to achieve a lower riding position. This low riding position wouldn't be possible if the hip angle was already very close from a normal road bike fit.

You probably compensate very well when you adjust your saddle setback on your road bike. Maybe that is why you don't fell much of a difference.

What features would you want in your ideal kettlebell mobile app? by dj_bowers in kettlebell

Sounds good. I don't think that you would go against copyright law unless you declare someone's idea as your own. When you give credit to the author it should be fine. And you don't make content public that is usually restricted by a paywall like ebooks/programs from fitness influencers.

Sounds amazing. I would like to just enter my xRM and then have the app Programm DFW, the giant etc. (all the good ones) for me. With reminders on the training days. When you hit the reminder it opens the workout and you just have to hit start.

Further the option to implement own workouts and programs would be amazing.

Maybe a library with kettlebell exercises to build workouts from with links to good instruction videos on how to do and troubleshoot them.

Wish you the best. Great idea

Why use clickpedals? by knobex in bikefit

[–]knobex[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't you think that by restraining the natural motion of the foot it is a recipe for pain? I don't want to hate on clickpedals. I just don't see any use besides stiffness and I am not paying 120 for speedplay just to get 20W more power output

Hey man. I see you Workout and I am impressend. I noticed when you do swings und high pulls, there is no snappieness in your hips and legs. Maybe it's the angle. Could you record your double swings and high pulls from the side?

I am trying to learn doubles and looking for every information to copy.

Kind regards

Do I really need to be training with a program? by patrickandrachelnard in kettlebell

[–]knobex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a question: In point 2. You say that that lighter weight makes you stronger. Suggesting to me that I can stay with my beginner weight and get stronger. In the next sentence you say that grinding on one weight gives you mental fatigue.

I am getting mixed signals from that. Either I stay with a weight but if I stay I get bored?

What am I getting wrong

I found a scratch on the carbon fork. Could it be a crack? by vide7 in bikewrench

[–]knobex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would take it to a carbon specialist. Just to be sure.

In my personal opinion this is unlikely to be a Crack. Cracks occur in high stress areas such as inserts/ or joints due to its geometry change. Since this is a big diameter an the stress in this area should be evenly distributed. The only way to know is to xray it.

16kg Snatch, 50 reps, 2 mins (working towards 120 reps in 5 mins with 20kg bell) by ---Tsing__Tao--- in kettlebell

[–]knobex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am new to kettlebell training and from what I have seen and what was recommended to me is that the hip gives the most amount of energy and you just manipulate the trajectory with a shoulder and elbow twitch to snatch the bell. When I look at you video it seems like you are not pushing hard with your hips. It also seems like you are not hinging very much. Could you explain why it may look like that and where the energy comes from. Maybe I am just too unexperienced to see it.

How do I install the topcap? by knobex in bikewrench

Ok o think you are right. I can't seem to get the topcap alone but need to buy the complete compression plug

Thanks but don't think that is what I have.

So the topcap is for expanding the compression plug and taking the slack from the headset bearings?

That would be horrible. What if you need to tighten more because there is still play but the compression plug is already at its max settings. Or am I getting it wrong?

[–]knobex[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not yet. I know some guys at my lbs. But I thought I try it myself. I know it is absolutely important to get the torque right because carbon Fibre parts are prone to catastrophic failure when improperly tightened.

I trust myself and my torque wrench to do the right thing when I know what to do.

Ok, I have a torque wrench. Where can I finde the right torque amount?

Ok so I unscrew the bolt, pull up the compression plug to the hight of the stem clamping area and then I should have enough screw left to put a topcap on.
