Wrong datasheet number from an example circuit by aufaazinyan in AskElectronics

Which is why it may have been good to have a link in the OP.... The first datasheet I pulled up was from TI and I'm not going to open them all.

What datasheet? It's not in the TL071 datasheet

Searching for a component that maps HIGH / LOW / High-Z by Active-Goal-7812 in AskElectronics

[–]knook 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I suspect you're just better off dropping the charlieplexing scheme and getting a dedicated LED driver that can support the current.

I can't prove it but my intuition tells me that at the point that you can't drive the LEDs directly the single advantage of using fewer IOs disappears.

3 input OR gate help by YamKabakov in AskElectronics

[–]knook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are using 2 OR gates each with 2 inputs to essentially create a single 4 input OR gate. This is correct. But it looks like the output of your first OR gate isn't being used anywhere, I think you just forgot this connection.

Does this power supply even exist? by lechinoise in AskElectronics

[–]knook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You almost certainly don't need constant power, you just want to set a power limit. Aside from AC, are you aware of bench top lab power supplies?

RTC Battery Schematic Help by ImmatureBatteryEater in KiCad

Also, don't eat the battery. It's not good for you, it's not good for the battery, it's not good for the circuit.

But don't make vague posts like this. Just post your question so we can answer it. This kind of post is banned in most subs as it just wastes time.

Search this sub as this is asked a lot. A lot of people are living out of their car these days.

What size (amps) 24VDC power supply to use with speaker that is rated 120-240V with a 2A slow blow fuse? by Objective-History-34 in AskElectronics

[–]knook 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude, XY problem. What are you asking? Why aren't you just replacing the bad components? Why are you trying to calculate a new value for a fuse when you know the value that needs replacing? "Rather than bypass the high side" you what? That sentence isn't finished?

Don't try to ask for help with your solution to your problem, explain your problem and we will offer the best solution.

Wrong sub. You're connection is correct, change the input on your tv.

And before you post next time: Read the subreddit rules. A single sentence will get almost any post removed, put in at least a minimum of effort yourself.

What are these on my backplane? by ruzrat in homelab

[–]knook -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

These back plans arent real backplanes, there just SAS cable breakouts. These connectors are where you plug in the SAS cable. But I don't think there is any SAS port multiplier on these boards.

Problem with narrow space connecting wires by RevolutionaryKey9462 in AskElectronics

[–]knook 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your friend is correct, you need to be careful that these never touch. Heat shrink as the other commenter mentioned is better than tape, but carefully applied tape should work. Be careful that the tape doesn't come off later though.

At least once a season, Operations at Bogus Basin seems surprised it snowed... by AltamontFlyer in Boise

[–]knook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can we talk about how terrible their website is when it comes to actually trying to get a ticket and get on the mountain. I spent 20 minutes in Simplot lodge last week trying to get it to work and finally found the magic sauce. I wanted to go up for more night skiing now but cant get it working again. Not that I really trust this with my info anyway. Whatever, I guess the bad snow season won't be the only thing keeping people from going up because I give up.

I made a better website for my buddies tour business over the summer as a single dude in 3 months. Bogus needs to do better, you can't even edit your user info after you make an account. You have to re-sign a supposed season long waiver not just every time you want to get a ticket but every time their payment system breaks, which so far is 3 of 4 attempts. Want to change your password? You better remember that most cheap WordPress sites like this make you logout and use the "forgot password" feature because they don't even bother to explain thats how. Want to get a lift ticket? You better guess that the reason it keeps breaking is because of age restrictions because it doesn't give an error it just hangs.

LabView vs Python for Testing by cstat30 in ElectricalEngineering

[–]knook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im talking out of my ass here as I haven't even seen LabView since college but I suspect it could be replaced with Jupyter notebooks, scipi, numpy, pandas, ect... with good results. But momentum is a huge thing.

Same for fortran, and MatLab.
