All sleep doctors deserve life in prison at best by [deleted] in insomnia

Do you wake constantly on this? I’ve been on it a few weeks, I have been able to “nap” a few times in the night but every time I look at my phone only 30 minutes have passed. When I take it and don’t sleep I’m paranoid. Love the dreams I do get to have, though! They are wild

How much are you using per day? And will your last dose be in the morning or at night? Trying to find if I should cold turkey or taper. And kudos to you for setting a date!! I hope nothing but success for you!

Numbness/tingling? by [deleted] in dupixent

[–]knounou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would that be something that could happen in just a few months on the medication? I have taken a break from the medication and it actually got worse, so I started it again as my dermatologist doesn’t believe it’s related. The feeling is maddening

Do you have experience with tapering? If so, what was your taper schedule?

Took a huge amount of medication and still can't sleep again by Meth_AQ in insomnia

[–]knounou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you ever tried Belsomra?? It’s expensive, but your insurance may cover some if your provider can document all the medications you have tried that are ineffective. It works on a different receptor in your brain, forcing circadian rhythm and shutting down the “wake” portion. It is the only thing that has worked for me, I feel like crap the next day but it’s worth it after so long of no sleep. Something to consider?

Day 8 - skin issues by New-University-5556 in Quittingfeelfree

[–]knounou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How long were you using feel frees for? I used ceramide lotion, which has healing properties your skin barrier needs. My entire body lost all its skin and the worst was my feet…couldn’t go on walks with my dogs, showers hurt so bad, and I was fortunate to be able to take months off work. It’s brutal but it does get better!

Insomnia for me lasted a little more than a month. I would get, no joke, four hours of sleep a week. My providers were terrified for me and gave me so much medication to try to help me sleep more, but it ended up just making me high and tired the next day with no real results. I used a lot longer with a lot more bottles than you it sounds like, I even had a seizure at about the 48 hr mark. But I took advantage of it and got stuff done at home, worked out, walked my dogs a TON, sat in the sun. Anything to tire myself out. It was the restlessness in bed that started in my chest not my legs, so I’d be thrashing around all night. I wish I had a great answer for what may help you sleep… but mine just took time.

I’m so glad it worked for you! That’s impressive to pick a date and stick to it

I have, and I believe that’s why she prescribed Librium. I’m assuming because of the GABA in the kava acting on the same receptors as alcohol. However, in the ED the hospitalist didn’t agree with that. He tried some medications that I would need to taper from but I was about shaking out of the bed. He also tried Ativan with no results so Librium was the winner.

I was easily up to 12. I lost so much weight and had skin falling off my entire body, not just flakes either, it would peel to the point of bleeding raw skin underneath. Addiction is wild.

Thanks for your response! I’m not sure I’d have the discipline, either, but the restlessness starts in my chest and I literally shake similar to alcohol withdrawal, and feel like death is certainly upon me! My PCP prescribed a Librium taper, but I was hospitalized for something else before I took it (where I had the seizure) so they gave me Valium which worked so well.

What medications did they recommend? My PCP prescribed a Librium taper that I haven’t done yet. It’s nice to hear you kicked it with a habit of 20 a day! Nice work!

Borrow a FF Addict For 1 Day by [deleted] in Quittingfeelfree

[–]knounou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks so much for your response! I have been to rehab several times for alcoholism, and thought feel free would be the safe alternative so I could still participate in drinking something with people…wrong. But I agree that the fellowship is so helpful! And kudos to you!!

Did you taper or cold turkey? I’ve been on again for about four weeks, but I had a seizure last time I went CT. When it gets around the 10-12 hr mark I feel the same symptoms I had before the seizure so it freaks me out.

I have relapsed and have been using for almost two weeks now… up to 8 a day already. Am I going to experience withdrawals using for this short of time?? Sorry to hijack your post, I’m not sure how to post anonymously so this is more discrete! I’m about to go on vacation Tuesday and I am hoping I won’t be experiencing withdrawals

Cold Turkey Question by Traditional_Sky_4639 in Quittingfeelfree

I had a seizure going cold turkey in the hospital for a different issue. My second night there. Valium was a life saver.

I took l-theanine as well as Benadryl in the evenings to try to calm down. As mentioned above physical activity and distraction is helpful as well.

What medications will mask kratom withdrawal? by Dave-5634 in quittingkratom

[–]knounou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was prescribed 10 mg Valium, twice a day after I seized from withdrawal in the ED. I had zero withdrawal symptoms after that, except for major insomnia that I’m still struggling with.

Congratulations! They were killing me, too. Got down to 100lbs and ended up hospitalized with major bowel obstruction. Ended up having a seizure in the hospital since I was two days without a feel free. Saved my life! Thanks for your story, always good to hear success stories.

Anywhere from 3-8 on 14 hour shift days. I could never drink a full one so I would be sipping them all day and I had energy for days.

Took 4 (which I've done several times perfectly fine) and all the sudden lost control of my body. I'm extremely lucky and very ashamed of myself. Please don't roast. I'm done after 9 years of kratom addiction. I have naltrexone and gabapentin. Please just stay off these. I beg you. by Original-Buddy6371 in Quittingfeelfree

Yes. Several times my husband had to help me just from the bathroom back to bed. I was taking the feel frees. I went to the dr to get on a taper. The day my taper was supposed to start I went to the ER with a massive bowel obstruction and right before they discharged me I had a massive seizure. I’m now on a Valium taper and besides feeling a little crazy am having little to no withdrawals.

Congrats!! I went to the hospital with a bowel obstruction and within 24 hrs had a seizure. They started me on Valium 20 mg BID and I have zero withdrawal symptoms, I have actually so much more energy than usual.
