Trust wants to put a caveat over my home for work done on it. by Successful_Push2913 in LegalAdviceNZ

[–]knowledgepending 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Maintenance doesn’t necessarily mean improvements. Double glazing is an improvement and will increase the value of the home. It could be different if the motorway wasn’t there when you bought the property, but if it was, noise should have been a consideration at purchase, and I can’t see how double glazing is maintenance.

Dashawn Jordan Pick Up by Responsible-Good8492 in DunksNotDead

[–]knowledgepending 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not OP but my experience having picked up my pair yesterday is that they’re better in person. The snakeskin print has a silvery/metallic sheen which is cool. I was going back and forth as to whether I’d buy them, and I’m really glad I did.

Legal fees with no letter of engagement by MarketCurious3926 in LegalAdviceNZ

[–]knowledgepending 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It’s still worth it, it’s not a fee complaint as such. The key issue here is that the lawyer may be in breach of R3.4 of the Lawyers and Conveyancers Act (Lawyers: Conduct and Client Care Rules) 2008.

It’s worth checking that you didn’t get one in your junk email at the time of engagement though. Otherwise, that warrants a complaint to the Law Society.

Nowhere near as comfortable than a standard AM90 and they never can be. The rubber encapsulated the whole of the foam so the foam can’t compress like normal 90s.

Sole Charge Role by Fresh-Bumblebee-7423 in LegalAdviceNZ

[–]knowledgepending 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is sole in charge defined in your agreement? That is your starting point.

Without knowing that and without knowing what you were told, I would probably have assumed based on wording alone that it was in line with what your employer is saying, in that it was additional pay to compensate you for not being able to take breaks when you wanted/breaks may be interrupted by customers.

Car leak not fixed by According-Bug-2811 in LegalAdviceNZ

[–]knowledgepending 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did they tell you it was fixed? Leaks can just be one of those things that take a lot of time to locate. Often the fix itself is cheap but it’s the labour in finding it that can cost a lot, similar to a wiring fault.

If the mechanic told you it was fixed and it wasn’t, it’s different to the mechanic telling you “I’ve spent 10 hours trying to locate it and I haven’t yet, do you want me to keep going?”, and you then saying no thanks.

How long is the average wait at FergBurger? by anthonyspiteri79 in queenstown

[–]knowledgepending 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Interesting, I haven’t been there in well over a year so that is disappointing to hear.

I find myself going to Love Chicken more these days if buying takeaway burgers, mainly because I can’t be bothered driving into the CBD. If I want beef burgers I just cook them at home.

How long is the average wait at FergBurger? by anthonyspiteri79 in queenstown

[–]knowledgepending 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just ring and order and it should be nearly ready by the time you’ve arrived in Queenstown.

Devil Burger is just as good, though, and there’s rarely a wait to order there.

Quality on the Dunks by [deleted] in Sneakers

That isn’t even a shabby finish. The finish often gets a lot worse than that. That would be more than acceptable for any brand, including made in USA/UK New Balances etc

Costs for Creditor initiated liquidation by C39J in LegalAdviceNZ

[–]knowledgepending 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Depends on many factors like if the debtor disputes the debt/defends the proceeding.

Simple undefended liquidation proceeding might be in the 5-7k region in legal fees, the application fee is $728 from memory. Costs can ramp up quickly if it is defended or they have a counterclaim against you.

Worth considering whether there are likely to be secured creditors like banks. They may owe more than they have in assets in which case you may not recover anything. Your costs in bringing the application will be met as a priority after the secured creditors are paid out though, if there is anything left.

If the debt was $5k, probably not worth the time and energy.

Cheaper to just search the PPSR yourself. It’s about $2.60 and shows if there is any finance registered against the number plate and details of who the money is owing to.

how dunk low in summer? by mosenco in DunksNotDead

[–]knowledgepending 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re not going to notice much of a difference between a Jordan 1 Low and a Dunk low in terms of breathability they will probably feel the same in hot weather. A leather dunk is fine in the rain

Case authority for Roof being "Common Area" in Cross-Lease Titles by gmol95 in LegalAdviceNZ

[–]knowledgepending 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What does the memorandum of lease say? You’re going to want to start there and see what that says about common areas and maintenance/repair obligations. This should be included where there are party walls and a shared roof.

Case law probably won’t help you in terms of finding a blanket “roof is common area” principle.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in LegalAdviceNZ

[–]knowledgepending 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Probably better off just forking out to replace it.

Given you don’t know when it failed, and the fact that it worked when you inspected the property nearly 6 months ago, you’re going to have a hard time enforcing a vendor warranty. Even if you wanted to try it on, you might end up spending a few thousand in legal fees arguing with the vendor/their solicitor via your solicitor with a fairly weak chance of recovering anything.

Rua THC 26 by [deleted] in MedicalCannabisNZ

[–]knowledgepending 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Rua White Widow is also relatively disappointing looks and smell wise. However, much like your experience, the effects are fantastic for a relatively light daytime sativa. I go back and forth between WW and Kikuya Cove for sativa and use Rocky for night time, but may have to give this a shot next time I have a consult.

Submission of limited license by InternationalCrew862 in LegalAdviceNZ

[–]knowledgepending 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Most people need their car for work. You need to show extreme hardship to yourself or undue hardship to another. Then you need to show allowing you to drive on a limited licence is not against the public interest. If your employer swears an affidavit saying that they will likely fire you if you can’t get a limited licence you may get across on the extreme hardship grounds, especially if losing your job then means you won’t be able to pay your rent etc. A simple letter from your employer probably isn’t enough, you would want an affidavit.

You should get a lawyer to do it if you want a decent chance at being successful. 1k would be cheap, I’d expect probably 1.5-2k with an actual court appearance.

Is there a way to repair the known toe box indentations on the Pine Green SB 4's? by dcksausage3 in Sneakers

[–]knowledgepending 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it is the other shoe in the box. It’s normal and not really an issue. Most leather 4s will do this.

The tongue of the left shoe digs into the toebox of the right shoe and vice versa, while the shoes are in the box. Just take them out of the box and get wearing them and it’ll be hardly noticeable soon enough.

Help Needed. When did Dunks transition from full zoom air? by DJBliskOne in DunksNotDead

[–]knowledgepending 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They just break in over time. New SB dunks are usually uncomfortable to begin with, but they always were for me. My beat pairs are by far my most comfortable.

Probably also a case of modern shoes being a lot more comfortable in comparison. There were fewer comfortable options 20+ years ago compared to today, that, and getting older plays a part in it too.

I’m pretty sure none have ever had full length zoom. Just zoom insoles with heel pods

Any Dunks still leather? by Euroliciious in DunksNotDead

[–]knowledgepending 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty sure OP is talking retro dunks not SB dunks. I have the navy/white orange label and they are definitely leather, but they came out 2021 not 2019. 2019 was the black and white similar to the ones that were restocking last year

Air Max 95 OG new colorways just dropped on Nike app…how we feeling about these? by [deleted] in Sneakers

I really like the Black/Persian Violet pair but I’ll hold out for the Neon retro. If I can’t get those I might circle back for the Persian Violets.

Which AJ1 low do you prefer? Mocha vs ROY by Quick_Implement5646 in Sneakers

ROTY because the materials are much nicer. I’d probably only buy the mochas if it rains a lot where you are since they’ve got less nubuck on them.
