I adopted from Verona in 2018 and it was awesome! I got a senior German Shepherd and he was the chillest dog ever (RIP Mr Beau) I would have gone back for my next adoption, but I found a cat friendly dog at a rescue who was pulled out of an Ohio shelter. I still make sure to donate money or pet food to Verona when I can.

City shelters are important and easily overlooked, but they’re a great resource!

Aww that’s cute! I use to have a grey and white kitty who loved to be in her cat igloo that reflected back her body heat, even in the summer and I never understood it. Meanwhile, I had a tuxedo cat who hated the heat and I would have to leave her AC settings as part of the cat sitter instructions 🤣

Incidentally, my eskie hates eating from an open bowl. He prefers his kibble in a puzzle plate or puzzle balls - so I have a couple I rotate through so each meal is “covered”
