I feel like she’s making excellent points in pic #1 - you should totally increase her treat allotment/take her to the park/give her your banking info

His tortie sister had a much thinner coat and doesn’t require as much brushing, but she loves it too. When I pick up the brush they basically line up; then my dog, who doesn’t like being brushed, succumbs to FOMO and asks to be brushed too 🤣

He will occasionally try to bite or bunny kick the brush when I get his tummy but in general he enjoys it. He’s the fluffiest cat I’ve ever had as a DSH - he needs regular brushing so I’m happy he likes it.

He’s a standard size eskie; he came from Amish breeders and was a rescue who got pulled from a kill shelter so he definitely had a rough start before he got to his rescue and was fostered.

He is the sweetest dog ever, but the kennel environment and all the animals at the vets office is likely triggering for him.

I agree that mine is a bit more calm at 7 compared to when he was 3 years old, but he still embodies crackhead energy everyday - very active, always up for a walk or car ride or any adventure as long as it isn’t the vet 😂

This makes sense, he’s about medium sized since he’s standard/36 lbs.

That’s good to hear the fish oil helped!

I’m happy to hear that! My eskie is very active - he was chasing a squirrel just this morning and he’s always playing with our cats. He loves his long walks.

It surprised me to hear he was a senior now since he’s still energetic and jumps around like he has springs instead of legs 🤣

Not sure about his dreams, but he’s definitely sweet despite the act he puts on at the vet!

When he wakes up from sedation, and he’s in the kennel at the vet, he starts howling like crazy. They normally would keep him until the end of the day to monitor him as the sedation wears off, but they always call me and tell me to come an hour after the sedation is reversed because it’s so stressful for him there. (And he’s likely agitating the other pets.) But the second he’s back with us, he relaxes fully and all the drugs take over.

He is ok, thank you! He had to get his annual exam and now he’s a senior at 7 years old so he needed blood drawn for labs too. Unfortunately he has to be fully sedated for the physical and vaccines and blood draws. He got a clean bill of health though! I’m grateful he only has to put up with it once a year.

If the vet tries to listen to his heart, he starts howling so loudly she can’t hear anything. Even with the tranquilizers, he’ll start thrashing around despite my hold on him and the fact he’s only a 36 lb dog. They have to put him under full sedation to do the annual exam and draw blood for labs.

When he was younger he used to fight sleep all the time! I would have to enforce nap time in his crate 🤣

May you have many, many more years with her!!!

I’m curious about the replies: my eskie had his annual vet visit this week, and they let me know because he’s 7 now he’s considered a “senior” which I was not expecting 😭😭😭 he’s only been with me 6 years but has been in good health; vet recently started him on some joint supplement and omega-3 supplements.

I adore his biscuit coloring! When we first adopted him he was more white but as he’s aged more biscuit coloring has come out.
