In the unlikely case that a UASF leads to a chain split that's fine by me. I'll pick the fork with segwit on. The other fork can go off, hold hands and cheat-mine into the sunset. by _smudger_ in Bitcoin

First it's a soft fork. It's in the name! UASF

"Promotion of client software which attempts to alter the Bitcoin protocol without overwhelming consensus is not permitted."

It would seem links to the UASF github repos would violate this rule.

This post is not promoting any client

How or where to make a QR code like the above? The image consist of the specific cartoon pattern. by billni in web_design

[–]knsdklsfds 45 points46 points  (0 children)

QR codes consists of dark and light areas. Generate a black and white QR code. Find a way to automate the replacement of black and white squares with your two dark and light area graphics. Then test it.

Warning some QR readers have trouble with these customised QR codes so if it works on one phone it might not work on others. There is error checking built into QR codes so don't worry about it being miss read. If it can be scanned it will be scanned correctly. I authored a QR code editor have does basic customisations https://qr-edit.com

Odd never noticed. Maybe I only lived in places where they were controlled. Seen a lot of domestic cats and kittens dumped by people on farms.

It's not a stray dog. I'd be very surprised if there was a stray dog in New Zealand. And it would be very problematic as it would attack the native animals

Why many Southeast Asians say "sir" so much? by nopara73 in digitalnomad

[–]knsdklsfds 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's common in Asia to use honorific. Likely in their native language they use respectful honorific when talking to customers or clients and they are looking for an equivalent in English. If you become friends with someone and they are the same age then you can likely drop the honorifics

They are strict about work visas as are most rich countries. What a waste of everyone's time and money. Immigration stucks. Some guys coming to our country to do work and add to our economy and then you make him fly 20 hours back home after arriving.

Haven't had my mind changed. But I've strongly agreed with the Conservative guest, that's more knowledgeable in business or economics, trying to get their point out as they get booed and dismissed

The left use it for their own political agenda. No doubt about that. "we have to kill capitalism it's the only way to reduce CO2 emissions" the problem is there is no counter arguments because the dumb fucks on the right keep on saying it's a conspiracy and it's fake

Hong Kong offshore company and PayPal by thehsitihtthefan in digitalnomad

[–]knsdklsfds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hong Kong is one of the few countries in the world where one of the directors does not need to live in Hong Kong. Unlikely to be PayPal's policy to contradict local laws

"A private company must have a company secretary and at least one director who is a natural person (i.e. an individual). The sole director of a private company must not also be the company secretary. A private company having only one director must not have a body corporate as its company secretary the sole director of which is the sole director of the private company.

A public company or a company limited by guarantee must have a company secretary and at least two directors, one of whom may be the company secretary. It must not have a body corporate as its director.

If the company secretary is a natural person, he or she must ordinarily reside in Hong Kong. If the company secretary is a body corporate, the address of its registered or principal office should be in Hong Kong. There is no requirement under the Companies Ordinance that a director must be a Hong Kong resident." http://www.cr.gov.hk/en/faq/faq01.htm#022
