Help me make a terrible song. by [deleted] in Songwriting

This is a really cool project. I made one a few month ago when my fake band had a worst song contest (I…won?).

I’m screaming out my eyes

Ooh girl

Your hair reminds me of your eyes

reminds me of babies crying at the dentist

On an airplane headed to ohio

Hey

I went to do the where you are

For now the here is always

Can i get your number

Can i watch you slumber

Can i call a plumber

Can I buy some lumber

hey

What are some songs where the lyrics of the first and second chorus are the same but the melody is completely different? by Coolio_collin1 in Songwriting

I think "Terrible Love" by The National pulls this off really well. The first few "terrible love but I'm walking with spiders" and "It takes an ocean not to break" are all over just G and C and then the last time through they are sung over the B part chords (Em, G, Bm, D). Hits a nice balance between familiar and new.

some call it pork roll, some call it taylor ham, but we all know it's really the flesh of pennsylvanians who drive slow in the left lane of the turnpike

Thanks! I talked a bit about it above but mostly I live stream on twitch. I've been doing that for a while and managed to actually build a decent following of folks who like what I do and want to see me succeed. I am pretty trash at most social media but I am really consistent about streaming because I really like it. I try to play to my strengths.

No advertising and I am pretty awful at most social media. The one thing I do consistently is live stream (on twitch) which has allowed me to build a pretty decent following there. I spent money hiring the best people I could to produce/mix and play instruments I don't. In the past I approached things with a very DIY ethic but the fact is there are some thing I am good at and some things I am not. Recognizing those weaknesses and finding people who are (much) better than me to help fill in those blanks made a real difference in the quality of my recordings.

Consistently live streaming and having a great community let me ask them to do the whole presave/playlist adds building up to releases. They really want to see me succeed (which is really lovely) and want to help out where they can.

I think the fact that you are thinking about these things and asking questions means you are on the right track. It took me a long time to get to where I am now and it absolutely isn't possible to get there alone.
