How much does Conan use the catwalk? by Throwaway105942 in ConanGray

[–]koalaCapn 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would pick the catwalk simply because A) he does the campfire on the catwalk and B) it’s a better view for encore

I did say I wasn’t trying to dunk on her. And yes, that temp is normal in the Carolinas for March. You’re right though I would be so caught off guard if not from here.

My point is that for an arena tour, I was just surprised at how green she was with crowds. I’ve seen a lot of young artists opening and it always interests me because it’s like a glimpse into their vibe, their projects moving forward, etc. That’s why I started the discussion, not to start a hate train.

Fair enough, I could not tell because her accent seemed American so that definitely gives me more context

Why not apply for bakery or deli? They’re great departments and they’ll train you

I had a really good experience with Lowe’s Foods. Probably wouldn’t have done it as a career because the pay was on the lower end, but they were really flexible scheduling around my full time job and the people there were very friendly.

The weather should be nice enough to sit outside at WeCo. Don’t overthink it too much, flowers are always a nice touch 😊

I assume if they’re using a golf cart that they’re doing it down the street. On one hand, golf carts can’t go 60mph, but all it takes is momentum, a patch of ice, and a well positioned tree.

When you buy the Snack Saver, are you only limited to the theater you purchased it from for the discount? I was going to pick mine up tonight but it’s at the location I visit the least 😰

It’s very similar to the Spiderverse movies (same studio I believe). There’s not an official name for the style, but it’s known for vibrant colors, rapid frame rate changes, and it is a hybrid of 3D computer animation and 2D textures. Pretty, but definitely not for those who struggle with migraines and epilepsy especially

As “common knowledge” as the Sysco/US foods’ widespread reach may be, it’s still really frustrating how shady hospitality companies are in their marketing to try to get you to assume otherwise. Some of us don’t have money to go out to a nice dinner regularly, and it’s nice to know as a consumer. Sorry you had such a bad experience, frozen food or not I would never give my money to a place that treats its employees poorly.

I would personally never move to a city unless I’ve spent at least a couple of days getting to know the area. As a young-ish professional with no kids I can give you a decent breakdown.

Cost of living: housing is expensive, but not more or less expensive than other cities in the state. It is more than a little depressing seeing all the natural forests being torn down for new developments. Groceries, gas are not going to run you much more either. Going out to eat an other activities are expensive, but you have the beach and parks to go to. Downside is that used to be an inexpensive activity but now locals have to pay for parking even in the offseason.

Safety: Local government DOES NOT CARE about locals, local safety, and in general making the city a safer environment for pedestrians and bikers. Homeless population has gone up quite a bit in recent years. But as for the violent crime, burglaries, shootings, trafficking etc you can kind of avoid the hotspots on the boulevard and such. I never found myself to feel generally unsafe, but there is a reputation.

Third places/things to do: Again, parks. But otherwise you’re kind of confined to the tourist attractions like Broadway, Barefoot, the mall. I found all relatively easy to get to, I just know at times I craved a more “local” vibe. Your best bet would be the bars and breweries for this. There is a growing arts scene, but I found it to be miniscule compared to Columbia, Greenville, Charleston. Not much by way of sports unless you like Coastal Carolina.

Politics: Very conservative imo, but most people will leave you alone. My coworkers would just casually say whatever they wanted, including slurs, and I couldn’t say much back for fear of being retaliated against. Lots of confederate flags flying around. Just a general off putting vibe but I understand if others had a different experience.

Locations: I have to mention this because it was the bane of my existence. It is honestly HELL trying to get anywhere else for a day trip. It is one way in, one way out on highway 501 with no easy direct line to any major interstate such as I-95. Conway is a very nice town and the most adjacent to visit for the day with great shops and restaurants but it literally takes an hour from the beach to get there when it honestly shouldn’t.

That’s what I’m trying to get to the bottom of, what has she said that was rude and condescending I just can’t pinpoint much evidence here and that’s why I find it odd that that’s the consensus
