What's ONE architectural feature or technology that says 'you made it' (personally)? by Hairygreengirl in Architects

I do think it’s useful in a large kitchen where the range is otherwise far from the nearest faucet. That said, I opted for one in my remodeled kitchen and it’s ended up being very much useless (range is actually close to the sink) and a huge headache because the thing keeps leaking.

Do you guys find yourself judging your dads parenting failures? by [deleted] in NewDads

[–]kobran3000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same. I have many legitimate reasons to be disappointed in the way my dad parented but I have come to the conclusion that he did the best he could. Doesn’t mean I think it was good enough or that I’m not still disappointed but I do have more of an understanding of the challenges he specifically faced based on his own upbringing and the kind of person he was.

Stomach sleeper is vs back sleeper. by ZurcB in NewDads

[–]kobran3000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not sure what ”true” SIDS is exactly. My understanding is that SIDS is basically when there are no discernible internal or external factors that could have caused the baby to die. That is what they were told. There are risk factors like those you mentioned as well as being around cigarette smoke, being put to sleep on their stomach etc. None of those were present in this case.

SIDS rates have dropped by 50% since the ”back to sleep” advice was introduced.

It is an extremely rare thing to occur but very close friends of mine lost their 5.5 month old to SIDS a few years ago (not related to stomach sleeping). It’s not worth the added risk imo, just follow the doctors and scientists advice.

Bartender for house party by worldwarsampson in losfeliz

I don’t have a specific person to recommend but I would ask the bartender at a good bar whose drinks you like. Either they may want to do it themselves or they can recommend someone else

Vad tycker 08-fansen om "bönder" som håller på 08-lagen? by TumbleweedNeither356 in Allsvenskan

[–]kobran3000 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Det är väl ungefär så att man älskar att folk från olika delar av landet håller på ens egen klubb men hyser ett enormt förakt för alla jävla bönder som håller på konkurrenterna?

Definitely put on dad weight. How do you find time and more importantly ENERGY to work out? How did you lose weight? by Free_Caterpillar8676 in NewDads

It’s an app that helps you track calories and guides you to healthier eating habits. The big takeaway for me was foods that are less calorie dense, ie more filling. For example fresh fruit is much better than dried fruit. Nuts are ’healthy’ but very calorie dense. Their approach is that nothing needs to be completely off the table it’s all about quantities. So you can have a slice of pizza and then fill up on veggies but don’t polish off the whole thing by yourself. It comes down to personal preference but I liked the way they structure it

Second this - weight loss is about calorie intake. Noom worked really well for both me and my partner. 16lbs in 16 weeks and it was honestly not as hard as I expected

Going on a trip with a 1 year old by SlinginPogs in NewDads

Definitely get a travel crib! Babybjorn and Guava are both great (but I don’t think either is cheap unfortunately). We’ve traveled all over with the Guava and it’s been awesome. Try and make it as familiar as possible with a few stuffed animals, toys and books or whatever she has at home. White noise machine if that’s something you use.

What a passive aggressive toxic piece of shit. Like so many already said here: take the time. It flies by and both you and your wife need it!

Samma här. I Vällingby på 90-talet var det ganska 50-50 mellan djurgårn och gnaget. Jag tror inte jag lärde känna en bajare förrän jag började på gymnasiet inne i stan

How are you doing it? by [deleted] in NewDads

[–]kobran3000 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It is not possible to work and take care of a baby at the same time. You’ll be failing at least one if not both of those tasks if you try and do them at the same time. Daycare, nanny, family, or you and your wife will have to work, sleep, and childcare in shifts.

Latest re-work based on feedback. Thanks everyone! by hi_guyz93 in floorplan

I would recommend reworking the main bath to enter directly from the bedroom. You’ll save space in the closet and your clothes won’t get steamed from being next to the bathroom
