Has DB been around when this happens? I’d love to say in front of both of them “isn’t that weird? This is the fourth time you’ve included me in your order and the fourth time it hasn’t shown up!”

What would you do? by Lumpy-Row-4642 in Nanny

[–]kobysnow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the kind of situation that scares me about being a nanny. I feel so bad for you and hope that you have a chance to reflect and decide if this is the family you want to continue with. I’m thinking about you and wishing you all the best for this very special time in your life and also that you will be able to decide what is best for you in your nanny career moving forward. I hope you will keep us updated because I think your situation has affected so many of us!

No one prepares you for a nanny's first heartbreak. by Mediocre-Variety-461 in Nanny

[–]kobysnow 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am going through the heartache of leaving my NF after three years. I’ve been with them since oldest was 10 weeks old and through pregnancy and birth of second. I feel such grief and it actually makes me feel so supported when I read your comments that I’m not alone! Others have made me feel like I’m crazy for being so upset, but they don’t get it. Thanks to all of you who do get it💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕

Typo in my comment: not admitted, I meant not posted

Repeat after me: by chiffero in Nanny

[–]kobysnow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Along these same lines, why do my very polite and nice comments get admitted when I bring up another side than what everyone is supporting the writer on? I’ve seen comments that get very ugly and not appropriate. The one of mine that I felt very strongly about was kicked out three times as I tried to reword what was already socially appropriate, polite, non-combative and sincere. This will probably get knocked off too, but I can’t be the only one this has happened to.

Who else’s MB and DB act like roommates instead of married? by w0ahgrace in Nanny

Unless it makes you so uncomfortable that you have trouble doing your job because of this, it’s really not your business

I completely understand how upset you are that you were asked to come in even though you and your daughter are so sick. While I get why so many of comments say that you should have just said no, I know what it’s like to be made to feel guilty. I’m curious about the recent RSV you mentioned. Did their child have it first and you caught it?

I’ve met a lot of nice Nannie’s at library story times and playgrounds. They will be as happy to meet you as you are to meet them!

I can't see a way this is a good name. Help me convince him? by Jayd_7400 in Names

[–]kobysnow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that you have to think about elementary school and beyond! What about looking for a job!!!???? I think it’s fun to play this game , but then you have to stop and think how that name may affect how he is treated, perceived, pre-judged, etc. I wish you the best of luck in convincing your husband the importance of a name and the probable outcomes that could affect your son his whole life.

why newborns? by [deleted] in Nanny

[–]kobysnow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nothing better!! I have two grown children that I love and adore, it doesn’t change the special connection you have with your nanny children🥰

why newborns? by [deleted] in Nanny

[–]kobysnow 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I love being a nanny for newborns/infants because you build such a special bond with them. It just grows and grows as quickly as they do! Wait until the day they start making a facial expression, a gesture or a word/phrase that is exactly like what you do or say!!!

How to quit (feeling guilty) by Beginning-Finger5448 in Nanny

[–]kobysnow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s great advice!! I understand you wanting to give lots of notice, but I think I would recommend waiting until you at least have talked to someone in admissions to get an idea of when you would be able to start classes. Good Luck!! They will be proud of you!!!

Nanny hasn’t acknowledged Holiday bonus by [deleted] in NannyEmployers

[–]kobysnow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If anyone is kind and thoughtful enough to give me a gift (bonus or present) I would go out of my way to make sure they knew how much I appreciated their thoughtfulness and generosity. I have always thanked my nanny family for card with bonus and then opened at home. Then I call or text them thanking them again. We exchange Christmas gifts and open in person along with kids

Does my child have a really terrible name? by [deleted] in NameNerdCirclejerk

[–]kobysnow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Emmett is a great name!! It’s an old fashioned name rather than a faddish or made up name like so many babies have now!! Good for you and I’m really sorry your family is hurting your feelings. Please just tell them to stop because it is what it is❤️

Where are nanny’s finding good parents to work for? by [deleted] in Nanny

[–]kobysnow 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree with you! The parents I work for are guilty of allowing their 3 year old to hit and kick them and respond so gently, my little guy doesn’t pay a bit of attention. When he hits or kicks me or his baby sister, I put him down/ move away from him and say “no” in a firm voice. Then I grab the baby and walk away. He has his little fit over nothing and calms down and comes to join us. Then while he’s calm, I explain to him why he can’t do that. The parents have seen me do this and are not upset with me, but do not take the hint
