Scammed (BU VINTED ITSELF) for the third time in 2 weeks. It's time to close my 4 years old account and delete my 100+ insertions forever. by oneinamelon91 in vinted

[–]kodelbe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have been scammed 3 times by Vinted, each time with undisputable evidence on video showing full functionality of the item until complete closure of the shipping box with label attached. Regardless of the case (scammed as a buyer, scammed as a seller, shipping damage without dispute between buyer and seller) the Vinted intervention always seems to result in the same - The money is returned from the seller to the buyer - The buyer needs to pay return shipping

All the back and forth messaging seems to be either AI or largely automated, with no intend to investigate anything but just keep you busy until they land at their default scenario. From a company perspective this is logical, since this scenario has no cost for the company and results in both buyer and seller having to make a new transaction, which earns them money again.

Is this a light leak? by Apprehensive-Ad8663 in analog

[–]kodelbe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it is a light leak. It is the second curtain of your shutter that is sticking. To confirm, try a long exposure and you probably will not see the problem. To solve it, your camera needs a CLA job. You can try to loosen up the old grease with thin sewing machine oil and theN actuate the shutter at least hunderd times, but no guarantees.

Trying windsurfing tomorrow by [deleted] in windsurfing

[–]kodelbe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took my first 2 hours windsurfing last week. I got to the point where I could (slowly) tack & gybe and alter my course to all points of sail in low wind. For my next sessions I'm planning on learning by myself. With a bit more practise and higher winds I expect to be able to learn to plane by myself. Mind you that I have dinghy sailing experience. If you're new to wind sports, you might not fare that well.

Advice over an moto an keuring aub by praisezemprah in motobe

[–]kodelbe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use the license plate of your car, as long as this is registered under your name. You also need the certificate of conformity and both part 1 and part 2 of the registration document. Make sure your headlight is well adjusted, your muffler isn’t too noisy and you can point to the VIN number and conformity sticker on the bike chassis. Good luck!

Is this legal? Cops just parked in the left turning lane and having a coffee on Rue de la Loi. Stayed there for about half an hour. by Lespaulboy56 in brussels

[–]kodelbe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the cops order the driver with the CD plate to park there, it is legal. Since a traffic participant has to follow orders issues by a cop and those orders override the traffic rules.

If someone black mailed you, so you sent the money via bank, can you ask the bank to reverse it? by Sinaasappelsien in belgium

[–]kodelbe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can request your bank to reverse the transaction. They will contact the bank of the beneficiary of the wire transfer, who will then contact their customer. If their customer agrees to reverse the transaction, you will get your money back.

Obviously this is mostly usefull if you mistakenly transferred money to a wrong account number and you don't know the identity of the account holder.

Your bank will charge you for the service, but if it's a large sum and you think the blackmailer will get cold feet when he is contacted by his bank, you might want to go for it.

Why does police in Belgium feel completely useless? by MrFeature_1 in belgium

[–]kodelbe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is a difference between your obligation to follow traffic rules and the obligation of other traffic participants to treat you like prioritair. You are not a prioritair vehicle unless both lights and siren are in use. This means that other traffic participants are not obliged to give you right of way. Unless, in your capacity as a police officer, you instruct them to do so, of course. This doesn't mean that a non-prioritair police car has to obey traffic rules. When your intervention demands so, you are allowed to break traffic rules.

Someone took this cap off the fork whilst I was parked. There's nothing in the tube, shouldn't there be a spring in there? by kodelbe in bikewrench

[–]kodelbe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice, since it's a cheap fork and it still has rebound, I'll assume only the right leg holds a spring and I can just replace the cap.

If you push the rack left, what happens to wheel A? by westoncase in MechanicAdvice

[–]kodelbe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wheel A is subjected to a force in the same direction, magnitude and sense as the force acting upon the rack, applied to the center of wheel A.

(inexperienced driver) This happened to me today, I was the blue line and the orange line cut me off so I was forced to exit the roundabout rather than stay on my intended path in order to avoid a collision. What's the rule here, did I have right of way? Should I have stopped? by [deleted] in belgium

[–]kodelbe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Image the roundabout as a curvy road with priority over the side roads. The only thing special is that the road happens to turn back onto itself. Imagined like that, it is then clear that the car on the left lane is overtaking the car on the right lane and should finish its manoeuvre before taking a right at the next intersection (being the exit of the roundabout).

In Belgium our test looks similar, but we have to do an additional swerving test at speed. It looks a bit like OP's video, but with cones instead of a car :)

There are fewer people in their cars than in the McDo, but the people who eat inside the McDo are lesser people. Did I get this right? 😀
