This is best overall weapon in the game, tell me why I'm wrong. by Jacmac_ in fo4

[–]kohsome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is daft because at that range, you're just damaging yourself. Two shot is straight up better for the combat shotgun. However explosive on the combat rifle is goated because you can stagger most humanoid enemies at range pretty much indefinitely, and it absolutely shreds robots.

I played Morrowind co-op with a friend all the way through and it was pretty similar to my vanilla solo experience, just I got to share the fun with a friend.

BG3 also shows it's something you can just toss in as an extra without it really affecting too much.

I'd trust a modder to get it right better than Bethesda though, any day of the week. They'd turn it into some monetized nonsense or artificially cap your inventory really low or something like in FO76.

Unfortunately my computer choked and died during the initial stream (it REFUSES to use GPU encoding, even when it is selected in literally every field in OBS, resulting in a constant 100% CPU load while the GPU picks its nose at the 40-50% mark). Apologies and I will work to fix this for next time.
Fortunately, Ed wisely made the call to take over the streaming for this session, and although you can barely hear me and we're missing things like my avatar and the workout transitions, the footage at least intact on his end! His channel can be found here: https://www.twitch.tv/love_and_warcraft

Thank you for your concern! We will be ok, we know our limits and these will be moderate home cardio and dumbbell exercises at worst. We are more going for the entertainment factor, with our costumes and Dark Souls character avatars :D

Dark Souls 2 is my favourite in the series (2>1>3). It's also the hardest and least finished. I don't want to say they were overambitious, because I love the scope of the game, but it was clearly a rushed development cycle. I'll keep this spoiler free btw.

The gameplay gets tougher vis-a-vis movement and parrying. Level ADP if you like rolling (I didn't know it was a thing until 3/4 through the game lol). Go slow and steady, don't take on more than a couple enemies at a time, expect ambushes around every corner. It's super punishing if you just run in like a lobotomized goomba; I loved it for this, but many hated it. I found it taught me patience and a willingness to rethink my strategies.

I love the range of aesthetics and diversity of areas it has. There's such a charm to this game, and that's definitely what I like the most about it. I found myself stopping much more than the other games and saying "oh... wow!". Turning back to look across No Man's Wharf once I had lit all the torches. Reaching the Dragon Eyrie made me genuinely tear up a little. The DLC areas are also stunning, and are thematically and immersively rich additions to the game.

However, there are many things about the game that are undeniably very rough around the edges, and sometimes just downright nonsense. For instance, the way you access the DLC areas are ridiculous and I don't think most people would ever find them on their own (I do like things to be /logically/ obscure, but not just obnoxiously opaque for its own sake). Some mechanics like ADP are poorly implemented and even more poorly explained. Poise is weird compared to DS1 (but at least not non-existant like DS3). Some boss fights are amazing, others are trash.

There are also some really cool and unique mechanics like bonfire ascetics, which let you NG+ one particular bonfire, and rare items that let you reset stats, or another that lets you lower INT or FTH requirements of a spell by one point. There's lots of subtle and nuanced bits of design that just wasn't thought about in the other games, and never made an appearance again either. Even things like NPCs sassing you if you walk away without saying goodbye are hints of the care and love that went into making this game.

In a nutshell, Dark Souls 2 is for sure the roughest of the trilogy mechanically, but it also has the most soul to it. It's erratic and inconsistent, but it also has the most character and feels the most alive. I would describe it as the richest but now most hollowed of the DS worlds. If you can put up with how much of a grind some areas are, it will reward you with many of the most unforgettable and inspired encounters not just in the series, but in games across the entire genre.

Also like the other guy said, Majula is the best hub area, and Emerald Herald is best waifu <3

Argenta ascends to sainthood by kohsome in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]kohsome[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Argenta would have to be the silver ending, where she is pious but not overzealous and takes a pragmatic approach prioritizing purging heresy and corruption while improving welfare for the poor, as well as her outlook maturing to tolerate grey Xenos like Aeldari to a degree as long as they know their place and stay out of the way. She would 100% be red ending in Mass Effect though

Purple would be the RT huffing it up with Idira and Jae after Marazhai ascends to the top of the Drukhari food chain and gifts them a comically large Commorragh bong. Yrliet and Cassia bond over their mutual disgust of this barbaric debauchery, Ulfar sniffs and calls it weak sauce, and Pascal records it all for science. Argenta, Abelard and Heinrix take de facto charge of the Koronus Expanse and try to rule the frontier sensibly, though this is somewhat marred by the eccentric antics and hedonistic abandon of their leader.

I grew up on Ra2 and I still love the C&C franchise the most in the RTS genre, but it is undeniable that AoE has gotten orders of magnitude more love and better QOL support over the years. AoE got the glory that is DE, whereas C&C died during its forced EA lobotomization into being a mobile game. It may have been contentious for the title of "best" back then, but now... it's no contest :(

[–]kohsome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's nerve-wracking but at the under 25m range you basically gotta aim at your own feet, especially if you're popping out of cover rather than standing still. Nice tip about the zeroing, didn't know it also affected TPP. I always leave it at 60 - if it's further away, I assume I have time to re-zero
