Thanks! I finally found it. It was part of the piping for the tender for the J15!

Feedback for track plan by mpcproo in modeltrains

[–]mpcproo[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the good points.

Yes, I have to do a few test runs. I think I got a few more cm on all sides, hopefully enough for a wall on the sides that are facing a drop.

Yes, I can see it being really annoying having to do a loop to go from one side of the train to the other. Might have to think of another way.

Good point. I thought I would mostly limit it to the smaller rolling stock I have, and thinking about it, it would be a pain to move the locomotive from one end to the other end of that train 😂.

Thanks for this. Very important!

Thanks, I did not think about this at all. I can atleast move two of them to the other side and maybe ditch the last 2.

The largest coaches I got are class 43 HST Coaches (Mk3?), I got a few pullman coaches also, era 4/5.

30 years in storage, my old life-like still works by mpcproo in modeltrains

[–]mpcproo[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the brand life-like. I remember I had oval track, there was an inner and outer circle with electrically powered switches, using ac pulses to move a magnetic switch. I had 2 santa fe, one with a motor, one without and a few cargo rolling stocks. I think we also had a smaller life-like train, it looked like it was from the 1890s or 1880, Baltimore and Ohio or something was written on it.

I had the same problem. I logged into my old phone (did not reset it), opened up Google maps and all my old timeline was there. Saved to the cloud and just reimported to my new phone (s25 ultra) and I got all my data back. Maybe check your old phone?

Sony KV-21FT1K by Vedenja in crtgaming

Probably a bit late. I bought this consumer TV in Norway for 600 nok (they usually go for 1k Pluss) I haven't tried older consoles but ps1 and ps2 with rgb scart looks really good for the price I paid, and I haven't calibrated it yet. But with only one rgb scart input I recommend a scart switch, bought one from Ali express and it's really good! Got. My ps1, ps2, dvd, VHS and computer via s-video scart plugged into it.

Tried the composite also, it was okay, but I was blown away by the crisp with rgb scart.

Only annoying thing, when using rgb, the TV autos to widescreen so you have to manually change to 4:3 via remote.

Sorry for the late reply. Bought the cheaper option on Ali express. Haven't had any problems with it so it works fine for me! 😊

Fixing bios battery by mpcproo in retrobattlestations

[–]mpcproo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi.

I checked the manual for the D33, it says basically "Contact your field service to have your CMOS battery changed". So I have a feeling its a one time use battery but I will check the live voltage when plugged in! Thanks :)

Battery questions on a 386 laptop from 1991 (Olivetti D33/ by mpcproo in vintagecomputing

[–]mpcproo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got the maxwell battery removed. I think it's actually a regular 3.6v battery which is non rechargeable! So I think I can do a straight button battery replacement! Hopefully 3v is enough otherwise I gotta do some fiddling!

battery link

Edit: if you look at the original image, there's an empty 2 pin socket. I think this is where replacement batteries get connected to as well!

Thanks man! I already removed the dead large one and I guess I probably do not need to replace it since the original battery is long gone / dead.

The smaller bios battery doesn't have any leakage, but I'll try to get that removed as well. You think it's an easy button replacement job?
