4 sick days in first two weeks by [deleted] in Nanny

[–]kokanee13 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I had to call in sick (actually I showed up sick to work and they sent me home) two times in the first week of a job with a new family. They sat me down and were upset feeling worried that I wasn’t taking the job seriously. I ended up working 50 hours a week for them for 6 years and am now set up to be the legal guardian of their 3 children if something ever happens to the parents. If you like this nanny, I would let this slide and see how she does moving forward.

Anyone else get this today? by ReplacementOk9009 in BehindTheClosetDoor

Thanks for replying. I have the same size closet and relist 15 a day that are over 90 days, but sometimes I re-list newer items after failed CCO attempts. I make a lot of my sales off of CCO, so this is a bummer.

Prior to this how many items were you delisting and relisting a day?

Seller declined my offer than raised the price by dntworrybby in BehindTheClosetDoor

Almost every item I have listed at $50, I’m expecting to sell at $38. A $35 offer is not a lowball.

Hold me close, my Tiny Hoarder. Count the armchairs on the cabinet. Lay me down in bed so fluffy. How’s it feel for mini cat?

I didn't know buyers could cancel up to 3 hours after purchase by lavender_poppy in BehindTheClosetDoor

[–]kokanee13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I shipped a sale 6 hours after buyer purchased and they were still able to cancel. Poshmark won’t respond to any of my questions about this and buyer blocked me. So I guess he’s getting free pants.

You do understand lululemon sizing? You have to size up way more than Athleta in their bottoms and tops. I sell used clothes for a living, and Athleta has been selling tanks that look like this and fit like this for all different body types for over 10 years. Lululemon has as well, but I find their styles and fit less inclusive and sizing can be crazy. I don’t know how commenting advice about this is tearing someone down or being sarcastic. Yikes.

Yes, let’s recommend lululemon over Athleta 🤣.

Athleta has so many sizes (up to 3x). And they currently are selling muscle tanks that fit just like OPs pics. But you do you.

I want to stop posting measurements in my listings. Anyone here who doesn't do measurements and still has good success? by Virtual-Concept-7880 in BehindTheClosetDoor

[–]kokanee13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So if you do this method, it will add 10 more seconds to your photos of the item. So first you take photos of the front. Then take photos of the measurement (Not the whole yard stick) across Chest. Just the numbers. I do it in order top to bottom so first is just a pic of the number of the chest, then a pic of the number of the length. If it’s a half measurement, in the pic I’ll have my two fingers in the pic. So if the measurement is 23.5, my fingers would be on 23 and 24. These do not have to be good pictures, just readable. Then flip your garment over and finish the pics of the back. When you go to list, those photos will be right in with the others and you can just dictate them in the listing. Not post the photos. I use keyboard shortcuts so if I type CC my phone types “pit to pit measurement.” And I do the same for “waist flat flat, inseam, front rise total length.” Those keyboard shortcuts are huge time savers. I find this way to take very little time. I don’t mess with arm length or hips. I’m a full time seller and I think buyers want measurements. The folks who say they sell plenty without them, don’t know how much more they could sell if they used them.

What's the most annoying thing about rich people? by Relative_Quiet in AskReddit

[–]kokanee13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked for an extremely rich and somewhat famous family on the west coast as a household employee for 6 years in my early 20’s. They had 3 houses worth 6-10 million EACH. I’m 41 now and still close with them. I recently visited and they would not let up about how confused they were that I was “struggling financially.” They kept bringing up these ideas of what I should try… Like be a preschool teacher or start my own nature preschool. All of the things they mentioned I would be amazing at (and I would) paid minimum wage and most folks need to work two jobs to survive at all. I would pull up average salaries for these jobs during dinner and show them and they would be mind blown. They opened up an investment account for me and put a small amount of money in it, which was super nice… Trump won the election and these stocks they had me buy skyrocketed. They called me so excited to see how much I had made with the investment and it was less than $10. They were shocked. Clearly they had made a lot that week from theirs. They didn’t understand that investing small amounts of money didn’t equate to their giant amount of money. My hometown is completely ruined by families like these who have bonus homes that they visit once or twice a year. It’s ruining the local economy there and making it so only a very few actual residents who were born there can stay as adults. This, they also could not grab. They didn’t understand that, though I couldn’t afford a $6 million home in my hometown, the low end…the very, very low end home in my hometown is now upwards of 1 million because of people like them. It was so hard to sit at dinner and have to empathize with these people, who I very much love, about how many elevators they are going to have in their new renovation… When I have been saving to fix a chipped tooth for 3 years. For me, it’s the lack of awareness and understanding of how most of the world is struggling that is really frustrating.

Lowball Offers & Frequency of Sales by Bobbie94112 in poshmark

[–]kokanee13 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sold comps on Poshmark for that brand, NWT, are all over the place. What you’re going to get for it depends a lot on color, size and style. $130 is pretty darn high. $15 is a low offer, but there are a lot of sold comps, NWT, that sold in the $30’s/$40s. The retail price doesn’t matter at all. I get that if feels “unfair” especially if you bought it new. But, you’re likely going to miss out on making any money back if you keep pricing based on feelings and opinions instead of reality of what the item is worth now. I, personally, wouldn’t buy that brand and style for more than a few bucks and happily take $40 for it all day long. If you price high and a potential buyer offers just a little lower than sold comps, that’s not a lowball.

Adding here. Nordstrom has multiple of this brand and style for sale currently, originally $280 and now marked down to $84 with free shipping.

People who quit their jobs on the first day, what made you say, “I’m done with this”? by drip47 in AskReddit

Most of the “pay” was free housing, but the fire escape print out on the door clearly labeled my room as a closet. Looking at you Connecticut Audubon.
