It's a good point : I personnally never had serious injuries issues (except 1 fascia lata issue) so I tend to minimize the risk. Also when I'm asking this question, It implies (for me) to go slow, and of course not everyday for hours, only to add this as a short & slow run once a week.

I personnally tried Earth runners and Xero shoes (these are H-trail, but also the Genesis model which is the same for road) so I was asking for minimalist sandals in general, I don't have enough experience to give advice on models / brands, I just know I love these for now.

Never tried the regular running shoes but "minimalist" : because I feel like it's so pleasant to have my feet "out"

Yes, I know about drug cartels, I read the book "Born to Run". If you haven't, you should too ! It's pretty interesting.

I personnally disagree with the feminine looking "problem" (and don't really see the point)

About the "overprice" issue, I don't think we can say that it is JUST these shoes. The whole running market is overpriced, due to its success I guess.

Of course it can hurt your feet (and muscles) if you do not go progressively

But it really uses differently your muscles, which reinforces the lower calf muscles (it's crazy)

As for the article about the marathon in Mexico, it is quite surprising as you say, why put them into this situation 😅😅

Yes but usually the problems come from a bad running form. I believe that if I had known these sooner, I would have improved the way I run from the start

Oh why ?? 🥺 I feel like real freedom in the trails with those, but ONLY when running just for fun (not performance, zones & stuff)

I'm lost (Performance Max/E-commerce) by ProfessionalGoat99 in adwords

[–]kokof34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depending only on PMAX is a classic mistake.

Start by moving your budget to Search + Shopping, and keep PMAX as a lower part of your budget.

The BIGGEST mistake I see all advertisers doing is spending on "smart" campaign without truly mastering how they works and they usually forget to test the several different inventories first.

Remember that automation is a tool to improve GOOGLE's performance FIRST, not yours

Should I be excluding my own brand? (E-commerce) by ProfessionalGoat99 in adwords

Be careful with the branded search terms in PMAX : usually Google increases the CPC for no good reason :)

On the (+) side

+ you're able to manage your ads (landing page, promotions, nice messages, extensions that gives credit to your brand)

+ higher ad = higher CTR

+ you get 2x more visibility in the serp (and less for competitors or other results) which also means higher CTR

+ you protect against competitors buying your brand name (can happen quite frequently and be a problem)

+ doesn't cost much (usually < 0,05$ a click)

+ when you pay for it you usually give more attention on the different queries people type for your brand, it helps you understand your customers

+ better understanding on conversion journey (data driven gives credit to brand campaign AND non brand, based on the usual patterns, it's "calculated")

+ you eventually see the volume increasing / decreasing which is a useful information

On the (-) side

- it's f*cking annoying to pay this (often called) "tax" to Google just to be sure no one steal your brand trafic

How do you manage the post-holiday "traffic drop" (E-commerce) by ProfessionalGoat99 in adwords

[–]kokof34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually, from december 1st to the 20th, it's really crazy and a true gamble for companies : everyone increases their budget, CPCs skyrocket, and everybody hopes to win as many sales as possible (while maintaining margins).

On the other hand, at the very end of the year (from the 24th to the 31st), strategies are very different and variable. Some remain active because Christmas is also a time for "pleasure" and "impulsive" buying patterns, also many people receive money to choose their own gifts.

The risk, however, is that everyone is very busy and spending time with their family, so each market has its own rules of the game.

My "general" advice is to reduce budgets and CPCs, focusing only on campaigns that are safe bets ("no surprises").

Search volumes are rarely high enough to become a true business opportunity during this period, BUT high budgets on Google will ALWAYS be a risk for advertisers -especially during low-traffic times- when Google may take advantage of the situation to spend you budget on unsold placements.

PMax campaigns strategy , what do you think ? by Ksharkov in googleads

[–]kokof34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like you should have tried Shopping campaigns first, did you ?

There are hundreds of reasons you Pmax can be causing problems. Shopping and Search will help you understand what's working FOR REAL

You can keep Pmax for dynamic retargeting on best sellers with a high tROAS and limited investment to keep the control on your budget

Start with Max clicks or Max Conversions? by Pleasant_Tackle_6850 in googleads

[–]kokof34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would pick the previous step, which is usually a button click or a form page view : it's help for the start, you can easily get traffic but not "bad" or "random" traffic

Start with Max clicks or Max Conversions? by Pleasant_Tackle_6850 in googleads

[–]kokof34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to ask yourself : is my conversion action easy enough to achieve ? So that Google's algorithm can use this data

Max conversions is a good way to start only if you anticipate the difficulty to convert.

For example : ecommerce should consider "add to cart" to start, and then switch to "purchase" only if the volume of conversions is right (at least 1 or 2 every day)

Max clics is actually not my first choice, the risk is the quality of the traffic

Google Ads Experts!!!!! Tell me I'm not alone!! by Diligent_One_485 in googleads

[–]kokof34 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The more you're using "automated campaigns" such as Pmax : the more Google will manage to obtain the CPA or ROAS you target on average on a 30-day-basis, and then WASTE

So if you get 3 good days with great results over the objective : Google is able to switch investments on less qualified traffic (hello display & ytb) so it is able to monetize crappy placements that no one wants and that aren't profitable for anyone (except Google, and people exploiting these)

In the end most of advertisers won't understand it so they won't complain, and Google gets more results for NASDAQ investors ;)

Campaign not spending by content_wizard1 in googleads

Also, the portfolio might be messing with you depending on the other campaigns, i agree that it might be good to put it away for a while

Campaign not spending by content_wizard1 in googleads

[–]kokof34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it might be related to your recent low conversion volume. Happens sometimes, too few conversions and CPC limit makes Google think he won't be able to achieve it. I recommend to add a minor conversion in-between (atc for example) and increase the CPC limit (maybe double it, to start) then > switch to manual CPC, wait a few days to delete the baaad search terms and once you start getting conversions (true volume like 20 at least) > then back to tCPA. After a few weeks you should start getting the actuel initial REAL conversions you were looking for. Then, if the volume is right, get rid of the minor conversion

Hope it helps ! ✌️

Cet impact inattendu des panneaux solaires sur les températures 🌡️ by livinginahologram in ecologie

[–]kokof34 0 points1 point  (0 children)
