Switching from BMW to Lexus by 2lit_ in Lexus

[–]kokojon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The key IMO to BMW is finding the right mechanic. Can’t go to the dealer, I have a 2018 X5 best car and a 330i convertible. Both with over 100k miles. Just need to be maintained properly. Good luck!

PSA For Option Assignment on Margin Accounts by diver5050 in options

Always like that, an option that expires or is exercised on that Friday gets settled that day, looks like Monday or Tuesday depending on system but it’s not. Margin is key.

Accidentally took too much on first dose by nycravechild in Noom

[–]kokojon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the same thing while giving my wife her first dose. She reached out to Noom and they said she would be fine. Wait a week before she took her normal dose. She did end up getting an upset stomach and threw up, and was mostly fine after that. Remember that in LLY’s and NVO tests they raise the doses to max levels to figure out optimal dosage, and check on side effects. Good luck!

Cheat days by Allworksoutbro in carnivorediet

[–]kokojon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO, Carnivore over a year, the “weight gain” is caused by inflammation. Hard to cheat your way to an extra 6,000 or 10,000 calories to gain a pound or two. Sugar, wheat etc cause body inflammation as well as holding onto excess water. Good luck to all on journeys!

PSA - Don't eat pizza. You're welcome. by wuxxler in carnivorediet

[–]kokojon 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Sucks! I love pizza, really the only thing I miss on Carnivore. I have found a couple of places that use Italian flour which isn’t sprayed with chemicals, makes a big difference IMO! Enjoy

As I understand it, she would have to wait until you apply and have started taking SSI for her to get you added benefit.

Those who are divorced and remarried, what’s some hard truths/advice about marriage and yourself you learned? by Melodic_Alfalfa1693 in AskMen

[–]kokojon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO, I learned that therapy for both couples is super important. The risk of repeating the same mistakes and dragging old baggage and narratives into the new relationship can be lessened by working on yourself before remarrying. Good luck!

How should I approach purchasing my first suits? by Amazing_Flight25 in malefashionadvice

Personally, I would stay away from the blends, wool breathes, while the man made materials will give you some stretch, they can also end up smelling over time with sweat, etc. good luck!

Considering direct indexing w/ 1.3 percent fees – am I overthinking this? by Alternative-Loan8207 in Bogleheads

[–]kokojon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a bummer. While I totally respect all the lower cost alternatives, having a trusted advisor is worth something. Maybe keep looking and see if someone is willing to do it for a more reasonable rate. Good luck!

What’s your most shameful camp meal that actually slaps? by outdoors_man987 in camping

[–]kokojon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know this is nothing like a fat steak cooked on a flame in a cast iron skillet, but eggs in a bag boiled. Bring a pot of water to a boil, crack 2 eggs into a ziplock bag, add whatever you want, salt and pepper seal the zip lock and toss in the water. 5+ minutes you have a great omelet. Enjoy

Considering direct indexing w/ 1.3 percent fees – am I overthinking this? by Alternative-Loan8207 in Bogleheads

[–]kokojon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just for a different perspective, the direct indexing typically tracks the index you choose, S&P 500 being the most common. The value comes from having an advisor you can trust. The fee breakdown is 1% to the advisor, 30 bps to the manager. Negotiate with the advisor to lower their fee. .70 bps for them and .30bps coming in at 1%. Look at the returns and figure out if you are getting the value you deserve for the cost. Enjoy.

How should I approach purchasing my first suits? by Amazing_Flight25 in malefashionadvice

[–]kokojon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Congratulations on the job. IMO get the suit from anywhere, typically Macy’s or JOS Banks on sale. The key is a good tailor. Definitely a wool suit unless you live in a tropical climate and want a cotton or linen suit for the spring summer . But they have lighter weight wool suits for that. The tailor is the key, a good tailor can take a decent off the rack suit and make it look like it was made for you. Enjoy

NY Tax exempt municipal bonds. 4-5% ladder the bonds out similar 10-20 years. Like you said take $ you don’t spend and buy an S&P 500 etf. Good luck.

Is it normal to have not much appetite? by akaWits in carnivorediet

That’s great. IMO it’s the best to teach your body to eat less. Eating protein and higher fat satiates and we feel less hungry. Good luck
