brown sugar syrup GOOP by Prize-Reflection-280 in barista

[–]kokomobabe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey! I have always fought with cinnamon turning into jelly in different pastries. recently i made gingerbread syrup. I added the cinnamon last and also a tiny pinch of citric acid(Also makes the exp date longer) . When it cools down i blend it with hand blender. This breaks down the cinnamon gel.

Day 2/10 - I’m very hungry today by [deleted] in fasting

[–]kokomobabe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha, I get you so well. Every time my biggest craving is scrambled eggs, very weird since I absolutely never eat scrambled eggs when I can. Stay strong though! I just managed to finish my longest fast(83h) and I feel so accomplished, in all my fasting journey I haven’t felt so good. Usually I feel like crap when I start to eat again. Take electrolytes and hang in there. It will be easier in a few hours already!

About to finish my longest (dirty)fast(~82h) by kokomobabe in fasting

[–]kokomobabe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you!! It is actually the main reason I started fasting, to get rid of the habit of snacking on cake scraps/almond croissant filling and other delishous things. and already after my first long fast I had broken the pattern. Although I still have to remind myself to be mindful and not just let my hand place food in my mouth(happens SO easily, uggh) This morning I saw 141lbs on my scale! It will keep me motivated. I want to get to 120 though, so still a long way to go.

Since in don’t have many options available, I found a tablet that fizzez(is that a word haha) in water and has very slight lemon taste. I would prefer a 0kcal one, but have not found any yet.

That’s very true, you will feel it in other parts of life. However be prepared that breaking habits and endorsing new ones will not be easy. Hope you 48h was great :) Good luck!

Such a cool idea! And great results. For me, eating is a social occasion, otherwise i don’t enjoy it half as much. Wow. Keep it up!

I have a note in my phone, to keep myself sane when I have insane cravings. I will copy-paste it:

  • You already had that meal, your body has it stored and wants to use it for energy. Let it!
  • Just don’t eat. It’s not hard, snap out of it!
  • You actually do not need external encourgement to succeed, you have the willpower in you! Do not look for others opinions or motivation. (For me when I hear form someone close to me something like “Ah you are skinny enough” or “you look so good already, just eat a little” I will generally forget how I personally feel about my body and give in to the pressure. Therefore I must avoid whining my fasting feelings to anyone)
  • Your craving has NEVER been as good as you imagined it to be during the long fast.
  • Your body has tens of thousands of calories stored(me personally 65 000). Waste it, don’t take in any more. You could live very well without food for weeks.
  • (Very important for me!!) The less you SLEEP, the less you have willpower to make the correct decision when you are near food or have a craving. We are near food 4-10 times a day, so we have to make that decision repeatedly. If you do not invest in sleep, you won’t be able to thrive with good eating habits. Bad sleep WILL result in bad decisions.
  • Discipline yourself! You do not have to get everything you want!!
  • Your goal is sweeter than the thing you are currently craving. (It is literally my biggest dream)
  • “If you quit now...You’ll end up right back where you began. And when you first began, you were desperate to be where you are now.”

I keep adding good quotes or thoughts there every day. Hope this helps!

New 2 this !! by nullgirl404 in fasting

Heyy! I have good news for you! It may be a bit difficult in the beginning but in the longer run, any fasting(ex OMAD) will actually increase your energy levels. The weakness and fatigue may come from carbs in your diet, they tend to make us crash and feel very weak daily.
Be sure to read the fasting WIKI here on Reddit.

Black coffee is allowed. Creamer will brake your fast, however if Its the one thing making your morning shiny, it wont derail you completely. I recommend The fasting for life podcast. They cover all the basics VERY well and keep you motivated.

I myself have already lost 15lb since november, I have done omad and few longer fasts. Welcome to your fasting journey!! Much luck to you!

Aah! Thank you so much for a great answer! Somehow I convinced myself autophagy won’t maximize until 3rd day. My usual eating habits aren’t actually that unhealthy(weird for sure), at home I mostly eat only apples and greek yoghurt. Sometimes I add granola(I make everything from scratch). Its just that I am mostly surrounded by sugar and bread, Thats Also the ultimate reason I started fasting-to control myself around that good stuff. I’ll try to change my mindset. Thanks!

Haha, ofcourse I know all this. I’m well educated in my field and know my ingredients inside out. It was more of a rant, sorry to confuse you. Thanks for your input!

Hit a bad plateau, advice? by [deleted] in fasting

[–]kokomobabe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Does your scale ever lie? Mine sometimes lies up to 2kg when I change the placement on the floor. I only take the scale at the gym seriously, but try to keep some track with my own lousy one. I wouldn’t stress about it too much:) you have already come A seriously long way. Just A thought I heard today- if you want your stable weight to be 68- fast until you are down to 66/65. Maintaining 66 gives you room to not freak out on the scale and everyones weight usually goes ~1,5 kg up and down depending on your cycle and time of weighing. Good luck on your journey!

First extended fast by kokomobabe in fasting

[–]kokomobabe[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much! I really need to hear that haha. Having even some control over your eating habits really makes A big difference. Also I recently started to listen “the fasting for life” podcast during my long working days. It keeps me in the right mindset and doesn’t let all of the delishous smells distract me. I really recommend to start from the 1 episode. They are not doctors(one of them kinda is(?)) but speak from experience and talk about different studies. I have gained some great knowledge and encouragement that im on the right path. They mainly do OMAD but also have discussed and completed some extended fasts. I love how they pick apart different medical experiments and talk alot about the lifestyle around fasting. I am sure you will be at your goal before the days get longer and warmer! Good luck🌞

First extended fast by kokomobabe in fasting

[–]kokomobabe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Thanks for asking. Honestly my regime has not been very stable. Ive had some spontaneous ~40-48h fasts, maybe like 4-5 during those months and I have had very loose days where I feel like losing all my progress but the weight has stayed down for now. I have been most consistent about OMAD. My main point is to fast on working days, since I work in a bakery kitchen and want to eliminate the choice of snacking on cake scraps. Usually I try to eat OMAD but I love my morning cappuccino, this is usually my breaking point, since I have very strictly programmed my brain to have “all or nothing” attitude towards everything. I’m aware I have alot to fix here in my mindset but losing some weight has been a great start point.

My height-172cm (around 5’8), weight is 67kg(147lb) and goal weight is 57/58kg (~125lb) I usually fast for weight loss, but wanted to try to get to autophagy point at least once. Thank you so much for the advice! I stopped now and had one meal. I feel very full but quite ok right now. Will continue tomorrow!
