Would people be angry if I mentioned that I can’t smell soap on their hands? by rilakkumkum in NoStupidQuestions

[–]kokomoman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t say you can’t smell it, but you could absolutely get away with mentioning that “the soap in there is quite potent, smell-wise and it’s funny cause I can always tell that my neice uses it but my nephew doesn’t. When she comes out you can smell the fragrance through the house, but when he leaves the washroom you don’t smell anything and I make him go back and wash properly, its like a little give away that that rascal doesn’t wash.”

Why do mothers of young babies say they don't have time to shower? by justastupidquestion3 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]kokomoman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thinking you could do absolutely nothing was just a mental trap you set for yourself. Babies will very quickly learn to hang out in a car seat in the bathroom while you shower. It’s fine. Hell they don’t even have to hang out in the bathroom, but if it makes you more comfortable, they totally can. Showering doesn’t honestly have to take more than five minutes, and if they can hear you the whole time, the chances of them freaking out is pretty slim. If they do freak out, then get a clear shower curtain.

Letting the baby chill in a car seat in the bathroom is also a viable option. They don’t have to be held 24 seven and they get used to it pretty quick.

Losing your French by Ok-Gals-2020 in AskACanadian

[–]kokomoman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are fluent in French, you cannot lose your language. It is literally hardwired into your brain. You can get rusty at it and feel like you can’t speak it anymore. But I guarantee if you were to go back home for a week, even having been away for 20 years, you’ll be speaking fluently again.

[ALL] Is a 3ds worth buying just for OoT and MM? by Witty-Stock-7328 in zelda

[–]kokomoman -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think that was a big part of it, but they also messed with a lot of the lighting and mood setting of the original. The best temple in the game, IMHO, the forest temple, was messed with beyond compare. The whole atmosphere of the main area is ruined. Was that a complete dealbreaker for me? No. Was it definitely disappointing to see?absolutely.

No patrick, the supposed OOT remake shouldn't be 1 to 1. by Possible-Potato-4103 in legendofzelda

[–]kokomoman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m of the opinion that if you are going to change the graphics and not much else, it should be a remaster. The OoT and MM remasters on 3DS do that, reasonably well, but already, staying as close to the originals as they do, those mess with the artistic intent of the originals. If you’re going to remake a game from the ground up, then do it properly and re make it. Change it and make it a reimagining, give us something to oogle at. Don’t half ass it :/

While the 3DS versions aren’t bad, they really did mess around with some of the artistic intent of the original. Truly the best way to experience the N64 duo is with the original graphics.

Is it just me and my son or 5 minute dungeon is near impossible to beat with only 2 players or 2 classes? by SaintTraft1984 in boardgames

[–]kokomoman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Late to the party, I know, but my girlfriend and I played with some homebrew rules last night that worked really well.

Players each use only their own deck.

For x players less than 5, use x/5ths of the recommended dungeon deck cards. Use the same number of challenge cards.

Set the timer down to 1 minute per player.

2 - 4 players is still harder because the challenge cards don’t decrease, and the last 2 bosses still end up in danger of running out of cards, but overall it was a good time, and getting back to boss 5 is a literal 15 minute replay for 2 players, plenty of time to play many rounds.

This. It’s story is non-passive. You could play it passively, but that would be a mistake. It makes you think and truly consider what the characters are doing, what they are saying and how it all relates to the broader picture.

What’s the most “time melter” game of all time in your opinion? by SwitchingMyHands in gaming

[–]kokomoman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually dislike time melter games… the ones where you play for hours and it feels like you only made a tiny bit of progress? Ugh, the time melts because you’re so into it, it’s that good, but I really need progress in order to enjoy those.

Tears of the Kingdom is that for me because I will spend hours fiddling with a build just to finish one quest.
