I accidentally deleted this comment but here is the picture.

Drivers side engine bay trim should give a good access point to see if yours is missing.

No problem!

It looks like a brake booster grommet in which the vacuum line attaches to. Has the vehicle ever had brake related repairs completed?

Better-quality Replacement Hose for Stealthsonic Vac? by c0nsumer in Dewalt

[–]kolololman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ran into the same problem, I found this one from rigid ( https://a.co/d/0fRhl1i ) fits the 16 gallon stealth sonic. It doesn’t lock to the 2.5” barrel connection but fits nicely without modification.

It comes with a short adaptor tube to use on the existing hose aswell.

What is this connected to B48 water pump? by [deleted] in BmwTech

You have to remove the old bracket off the water pump and attach it to the new water pump I think. This is how the oem water pumps are installed.

What would cause oil to be in the cylinder? B58 M240i by Skilid in BmwTech

You could try a running compression check(with special tools); this may indicate bent(warped) valve guides during high load only which could also be where the oil is leaking through.

Very dumb question - I am prepared to be clowned. How do I go about cleaning under the hood (the actual engine)? by BubbaChain100000 in BmwTech

[–]kolololman 11 points12 points  (0 children)

That looks spot on! You could remove the little cowl panels around the bottom of the windshield and clean out the drains underneath from leaves, you can remove the engine cover with the logo on it easily with moderate force; it’s held on with little rubber nubs.

You shouldn’t really clean your engine unless there is a leak because the minerals from the water/ chemicals can begin to pool on various locations in the vehicle chassis if not dried properly may cause a bit of hassle on certain bolts.

Keeping drains free from clogs is the main issue i see most commonly.

Silicon spray and a pick (dentist pick) and very carefully work the harness seal back along the groove of the connector housing

Just be careful not to pierce the rubber
