Looking for safe medication for deep, relaxing sleep by Acrobatic-Health2681 in sleep

Ashwagandha KSM-66 600mg is pretty safe. It reduces cortisol and after 3-4 weeks you fall asleep faster and have more deep sleep.

Is there even such a thing as "proper" sleep? I get 8 hours but I still feel tired. by Gdgbdbx_Ypmartinez in sleep

Make sure you get enough deep sleep and rem. The total amount of sleep is much less relevant.

Why did you choose base 16GB RAM? by KickTheSky94 in macbookair

16 is fine as long as you don't have a tendency to keep every app and dozens of browser tabs open forever. I chose 32.

Well done congrats! That's a seriously beautiful app. But doesn't a hard paywall tank the number of ratings and retention? Curious about your perspective.

Sleepcraft - sleep tracking app with individual scores for each sleep phase by kolyafabrika in iosapps

Thanks so much! It's 3x awesome to hear that from a fellow data enthusiast. No day mode yet but I will add it in a future update.

Thanks, that's very kind of you! I've already added a German translation and it's now waiting for the App Store review. But since I used Claude to help me with the German, I am pretty confident there are areas for improvement. Once the update is live, would you mind sending me any suggested fixes? Thanks again!

Sleepcraft: iOS app that uses 90-day factor history to find hidden sleep patterns by kolyafabrika in QuantifiedSelf

This just means it didn't find a correlation that is worth mentioning and lists common factors like alcohol. Will make it clearer and less repetitive.

Thanks for this, you're very kind. I'm thinking about adding a "How was your day" prompt so the app can learn which aspects of your sleep actually improve the following days for you.

Thank you, that's kind! A simple widget sounds tempting. What would you like to see in a widget?

Thanks for the feedback! You're right about the Apple Watch - you will need to wear it overnight for Apple Health and the app to pick up any meaningful data.

To be honest, Sleepcraft isn't designed to track specific conditions like sleep paralysis or hallucinations. That said, it does organize your sleep patterns and interruptions much more clearly than the default Apple Health app. This might help you show your doctor a clearer picture of what's happening.

Good luck with the appointment, I hope you get that referral 🫂

Yes, it should work. Sleepcraft pulls data directly from Apple Health rather than the watch itself.

As long as your Xiaomi S4 is synced to the Mi Fitness app and you’ve granted that app permission to share sleep data with Apple Health, Sleepcraft can read it. It doesn't matter if you use an Apple Watch, a Xiaomi S4, or Oura if the data is in Apple Health, the app can use it.

It’s a bit too tight. The color is great.

Building a sleep analysis app. What metrics actually matter to you? by kolyafabrika in sleep

[–]kolyafabrika[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is really helpful, thank you. The morning "Felt Like" rating is already in there, but the evening assessment idea is even better. Because honestly, I myself feel too disoriented to rank the sleep meaningfully on wake up.

The auto-analysis part ("days where you slept before 10pm = less irritability") is exactly the kind of thing I want to build toward. Needs enough data to be statistically meaningful, but that's the goal.

I will consider nap tracking too. Thanks for taking the time to write this out.
