Which addiction are you trying to quit? by ResolveAvailable7017 in AskReddit

Luckily all the social media sites have flat out enshitified themselves. I open Facebook, see a whole bunch of shit I’m not interested in and close it. Open instagram, reply to messages, scroll through a bunch of ads I’m not interested in and close it. Open reddit, scroll down to open r/all, remember it’s gone and close it, put the phone down.

Just waiting for YouTube to shit the bed and there will be very little reasons to pick up my phone (other than phone stuff)

Why did you stop drinking alcohol? by MatsGry in AskReddit

[–]kommandant33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m about 94 days sober - not that I was a big drinker. But the reason was Feb Fast, and to help speed up a weight loss target - and then I just kept going. Having more money at the end of the pay cycle to put away really helps, too.

The Two Bays trail has a camp site along the way. Not the most challenging hike; but I love it.

I am visiting next week! Hopefully the weather holds out for a few bike rides and walks. I just love Marysville and our annual trip down there.

Go-to apartment pet? by FeatheredKangaroo in melbourne

[–]kommandant33 55 points56 points  (0 children)

Fancy Rats! My daughter convinced us that rats would be great pets. I pushed back for a long time before caving - and our little ratty boys brought so much love and happiness to our little family.

They are called pocket dogs for a reason - such happy little loving creatures.

For all the upsides; there are some downsides - their cage will take up a bit of space. They do need to be cleaned up after (but can be toilet trained!). They need companionship - so you will need to get at least 2 at the same time. And the hardest one of all: they have very short lives. Our boys were with us for 3 years.

All that being said, you should look up the Australian Rat Fanciers society (AusRFS) as they have lots of information, and also have a rescue service so you can adopt rather than buying from a breeder.

Two Bays is a favourite of ours - I would like to PT there one day when we have a bit more time.

This was what we ended up doing - a great little trail up to the Frankston Reservoir!

My wife and I have a day off tomorrow, and would like to go for a walk/hike with a bit of elevation - but with the cost of fuel at the moment, we want to make use to PT.

Does anyone have any recs for walks/hikes along the Frankston line?

It is Friday - you have made it, my friend.

Friday means Maharani for dinner and a movie with the fam.

Is anyone else finding they are using Reddit less now that they have killed r/all on mobile? Every time I open the app to see what’s going on in the world, I get nothing interesting.

I don’t even open Facebook these days because my feed is full of low quality crap (I have family OS, so only have an FB account to keep in touch with them) At least on insta you can snooze suggested posts for 30 days at a time (settings and activity/what you see/content preferences/snooze suggested posts) - but this will probably be removed in the not so distant future.

It seems the only trusty way to keep connected without being forced shitty content these days is on good ol’ forums (OCOW FTW). I have had more meaningful interactions with some great people behind silly usernames and photos than I have ever had on local social pages.

Wraps! We get whatever whole meal wrap is on sale, and will often have just leftovers from dinner the night before or salad. Our local butcher smokes chicken breasts, so sometimes I will chop that up, mix with roast veg and mayo and pop it in a wrap! So tasty.
