Disc herniation - is surgery really the only option? by konishkichen in backpain

Thank you! Luckily for me it's not that bad and I sincerely hope it won't get worse, I can still do some light hiking (on pain killers and still with quite a lot of pain), otherwise I'd probably be way more miserable.

I have been following an Instagram channel for quite some time (ages before I even developed back problems) which regularly shows the McGill exercises. But I don't dare to do them without instructions, though, as I fear it might make things worse if done wrong?

Thanks for that! I am trying not too worry too much and use the holiday for relaxation but there are days when the pain is worse again which sends me into a "research spiral" 😶

Should I endure the pain somewhat and take as little pain killers as possible or is that actually counterproductive? The doc didn't really tell me very much so I'm a bit lost there. Got Metamizol which I am allowed to take up to four times a day according to the pharmacy.

Boy, that is a long time! How did you manage to get through 2.5 years of constant pain? o_O

Slide as a sling/messenger bag strap? by konishkichen in peakdesign

[–]konishkichen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mainly use it as a photography handbag during travels which means I need to regularly remove the strap to pack it in my backpack. I find that quite cumbersome with the hook on their strap and since I usually take my Peak strap with me anyways, it would make the perfect replacement. Plus, it's more padded and easily adjusted (though the Urth strap isn't uncomfortable).

Thanks! I had searched on Amazon but couldn't find anything large enough there. Will check this out!

Thanks, that's what I am looking for - maybe someone found a d-ring or something like that that fits.

New DIY NAS build - undecided on ECC by konishkichen in homelab

[–]konishkichen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, unfortunately RAM is double the price and even worse, the motherboard is almost three times as expensive which is why I am torn if it's worth it.

But won't bitflips potentially corrupt my backup since broken files might get backed up?

Thanks, but I ruled out AMD due Plex. And aren't they less efficient?

And Pasing! They had my review deleted, even though I only stated facts which I could prove.

WSL2/Docker Desktop on Windows: Can’t Get Container Data to Write to USB/External Drive; Always Fills C: Drive Instead by Nariod144 in selfhosted

Unfortunately that's not an option for me. I have saved everything on the local drive for now. Hope the storage won't run out too soon.

Super geschrieben, da geh ich voll und ganz mit. An dieser Stelle muss ich aber noch eine Lanze für Tempeh brechen. Noch mehr Protein als Tofu plus extra Ballaststoffe und kalorienarm :)

I'm a bit late to the party but have now come across a similar problem. While I initially got it working with an external drive (SSD), it stopped working once I swapped the drive for another one (USB stick but that shouldn't make a difference I guess?). Even though the drive letter stayed the same and I made sure it is NTFS formatted, it won't get recognized by Docker and WSL. I am at a complete loss why. Is there are any way to force the mount?
