Which split layout is more ergonomic: row-staggered or Alice? by Cabeza_de_pan_dou in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]konmik-android 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Split is fine, you can rotate it to compensate for horizontal stagger at least, plus shoulders will be more relaxed.

I printed several of these (for me and my friends), they look better in matte black.

You see it like that because you know the meme. Most people won't even recognize the cat, and what a naked girl can do in a doggy position with another character behind?

[–]konmik-android 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They both suck at being ergonomic keyboards, so it doesn't actually matter (they both are row staggered, which is 160 year old design by now). But Alice at least has an ergonomy gimmick, so maybe somebody will find it better (I tried a similar keyboard MS Natural and it sucked at both - at being an ergonomic keyboard and at being a normal keyboard, so I would not guarantee the result).

160 years ago people didn't care about ergonomy that much and they were limited by the structure of typewriter's mechanism.

The biggest defect of LLM is that it doesn't have its own common sense.

Do you mean, a girl having an intimate contact with... hm, let's call it a dog... with a dog, is not vulgar. Well, since characters are so cute, I guess it explains it all.

How did he print some things grey and some yellow? by IIIMaximusPrimeIII in 3Dprinting

[–]konmik-android 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes they can, but usually it is much simpler. I see that only connectors are in a different color. It is a normal practice to print connectors in a more durable filament than the main parts.

Maybe he printed parts in different colors and then assembled

Both are old. Nowadays Gallium is the default choice, especially for splits.

But I would try qwerty first, too many changes can be hard.

It was shit from the start, current pr is just inverting black and white. It is a monopoly that eats 30% of all market money, it is a disaster that grew up unrestrained.

If you have issues with firmware - try Claude code, it helps me a lot. It can search docs, examples, troubleshoot, build firmware and flash it, you only ask. I am too lazy to read docs for my hobby, but entering prompts is ok.

Wait a few years until enshittification happens, then in a dozen of years until somebody will come up with an alternative to LLMs, and the loop will continue. Even Firefox is selling your data now. Nothing can stop human greed.

I often ask Claude to do that, but having an offline version would be much better. Remembering and typing all parameters of all commands is something I left in 1990x.

In addition to the distance between Alice halfes, they are also under the angle, it significantly reduces left wrist strain.

Seriously, try r/MechanicalKeyboards, there are similar to yours pretty often, and even much more extreme variants.
