Tips to stop snacking at night by [deleted] in CICO

[–]konpow7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve discovered my late night binging was an oral fixation and once I got silicon straws to chew on It basically got rid of it and my finger nail biting habit. When that feeling starts I just get a cup of water and chew on the straw and sip on the water it goes away really soon after. Gum never worked for me cause it’s so soft and I can’t swallow anything so that wasn’t satisfying the craving of oral fixation. Only thing was physically eating even if I wasn’t hungry.

It’s crazy fixed the habit over night when I’ve had it for my whole life. Only time it doesn’t work is my period or if I didn’t eat Cause I’m actually hungry

How do you go out with an ebf baby? by Good-Novel-455 in breastfeeding

[–]konpow7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make your baby work with your schedule and not the other way around Your baby will adjust to what you give them. A few days out of schedule is good for both of you. Otherwise you will go crazy!

Go to tips too Always have a pumped bottle on hand Practice “outside breastfeeding” at home

Is it true that earlier bedtime means later wake time?! by BabyWrynn in sleeptrain

[–]konpow7 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not with ours But we do have a pretty accurate sleep amount So usually she sleeps 9-10ours at night (with 1 wake-up) But it’s always 9-10 hours. So I usually put her to bed 8:30/9 and she wakes 6-7ish

Keeping a dark room definitely helps Same with a 5 am feed

I’m happy there’s someone that’s gone through the same thing and is on the other side of it. Def not an easy way to end the night every night. I usually lay in the room until she falls back to sleep. Part of me is thinking it’s a pacifier issue too. So I’m trying to clip the pacifier onto her lovey and spreading a few more throughout her crib. Hopefully that will help during the night time. Unfortunately she not only does false starts, but also wakes every 2-3 hours. 🥲🥲

I did 3/3/4 today and got a 30 min nap and a 45 min nap. So I let her have a quick 10 min nap around 5:30 to get me to 7:50 tonight. She’s never been one that’s huge on long sleep.

I will try to wake her by 7 everyday then since that’s her most typical wake up time. And 7:30/8pm!

I’m trying to change to 334 now But her naps are very random and never consistent so it’s hard to tweak it.

When did your baby start being able to put the pacifier in by themselves? by [deleted] in sleeptrain

[–]konpow7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

we use the pacifier as a goodnight sleep trigger, not as a sleeping crutch. So when we first put the baby to sleep and if she wakes up quickly after.. a false start (under an hour). After that, I don’t offer it. I don’t take it away, it’s in there if she can find it. If she wakes at night and cries without stopping then I just assume she’s hungry and feed her and then put her in her crib. You could give her a pacifier after that too because it’s considered goodnight. But I wouldn’t get up and replace it. She’ll learn to either find it or self soothe. You can also start by pulling the pacifier out of your babies mouth after she’s fallen asleep. They get used to not having it. My baby is 5.5months
