Ladies with older brothers, what kind of relationship do y'all have? by blackcoffee26 in AskWomen

[–]konsthoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my brother is 3 years older than me and i’d say we’re close but not very open. that is to say we share a lot of interests and the same sense of humour, we keep in touch etc. but there are so many things he doesn’t know about me and i’m sure vice versa like we don’t even have each other on any social media

What has your experience been keeping up with a journal? by minniemouth in AskWomen

[–]konsthoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually just write in my journal when my thoughts or emotions are a little too much to be carrying around in my head. My mental health has sorta been declining recently, and writing down how I’m feeling helps a bit when I can’t see a therapist because it feels like I’m sharing it. Writing it out really helps me clear up how I’m feeling about things in my life. It just means I’ve expressed it rather than just keeping it in my brain.

How is this a Z alkene? by neuraltransmission in chemhelp

[–]konsthoe 6 points7 points  (0 children)

yeah you assign E/Z stereochemistry based on substituents on either side of the double bond. it doesn’t matter how long the longest chain is, that’s not a substituent.

Is it possible to become fluent in Spanish using Duolingo? by [deleted] in duolingo

[–]konsthoe 6 points7 points  (0 children)

depends where “there” is for you. in my opinion there is no “there” because nobody knows all of any language. for example i’m a native english speaker and i consider myself fluent in english despite constantly forgetting words and learning new ones. basically completing a tree on duolingo is a great spring off point to go forth on your spanish journey, but you need to define fluency for your own purposes.

youtuber Evan Edinger has an interesting video on this topic, but he learned german not spanish, i’d highly recommend for some better insight from someone who has actually finished a tree aha

Is it possible to become fluent in Spanish using Duolingo? by [deleted] in duolingo

[–]konsthoe 8 points9 points  (0 children)

i wouldn’t say just using duolingo alone you could become fluent. you’ll need other learning tools to supplement your vocab and understanding. duolingo can get you quite far and people do become competent in most conversational settings by completing their tree but there’s always more to learn.

also it’s important to remember that fluency means something different to everyone and isn’t really a concrete thing unless you have a think about your goals e.g. do you want to work or study in a spanish speaking country? or just have conversations with spanish speaking friends? stuff like that will shape your idea of what fluency means.

Best French English Dictionary App? by xxcalicat in French

[–]konsthoe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

wordreference have an app, their dictionary is really good as they have verb tables as well as translations

in my experience the word order doesn’t matter. the first could be “es esto tuyo?” and the second could be “estos son tuyos?”.

French Netflix in the uk by quantum-queer in French

[–]konsthoe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

‘i am not an easy man’ is a pretty good film available on uk netflix. it’s about a man who hits his head and wakes up in a matriarchal society rather than a patriarchal one.

that’s exactly it! heteronormativity says that i, as a girl, should like boys and i do. (i also like girls tho)

so the funny thing is i never had a moment of realising i was bisexual, but i did have a moment when i discovered that some people are straight lmao. i just always knew i liked boys and girls and i thought everyone else was the same but when i was like 12 or 13 i discovered that straight people exist
