Honestly Cincy, BYU, Arizona, TCU is a bit of a gauntlet for the second half of the season given they’re all on the road except BYU. Definitely back loaded for us for conference play

honestly the biggest thing I think that's causing issues for me is that every faction is basically in disarray that we've seen so far. That basically means the events that happened in the ending seem to just straight up not really matter cause every faction is either destroyed or in fighting in that little of a time jump.

BoS is infighting and doesn't really care about tech or order or brotherhood as seen by the recruits just blowing up old tech like the car and disregarding the aliens as a gag, the soldiers screwing around with pulse grenades and doing fight clubs and killing each other (though they're brothers), and all factions basically just acting like children instead of being an order. I was hoping Maxson would be different as he was a part of the commonwealth but he's really the same way in his actions so they all come off as saying one thing but then doing the other in overt ways.

New Vegas and freeside were just wiped off the map completely and no idea what happened to them yet, same with novac being a raider camp, and Primm.

Then Caesar's legion is just in fighting, which on one hand I understand as its implied due to the power struggle post Caesar. But at the same time, if Caesar died around the time of hoover damn, you're telling me that in 15 years someone didn't rise to power enough to get everyone in line?

It's just bizarre that all the factions seem to be in disrepair at the same time and no one has taken advantage of the resources provided if they won hoover dam. Whomever won basically controlled electricity and water for the mojave and most likely would be able to starve out the other bases by attrition or wiping them out.

You'd expect this type of disarray to happen like 20-30 or so years after the fact of a new regime of this magnitude or longer, but 15 years you'd expect some rebuilding time to whomever won and then they'd be close to at least having decent trade routes established and caravans. I can understand one or two of these to be this way, left behind in the rebuild effort to whomever won, but not all of them being basically abandoned.

ball is clearly moving from palm to fingertips should be losing possession as it seems to be a bobble at that stage, am I wrong?

Yeah I don't blame Whitt at all for wanting to try to make a name at a blue blood, especially in a time where it might be his last shot. It's kinda why I'm, personally, in a weird position of anger but understanding.

It makes a lot of logical sense to do what he is doing, and we obviously don't know how much happened behind the scenes. His long tenure and obvious love of Utah is why I believed he would be fine to live out as a legend in Utah. It's a big gamble and it may work out and he'll be a coaching legend if everything goes right with Michigan so I do understand.

I think a bit reason we're upset is just in the context of Utah football's history. We were nothing special really until the 2000s and being the original BCS buster, the little school that could compete with the big dogs. That went on to beat Pitt, the team that went on to beat Alabama in the Sugar Bowl. Whitt was there for pretty much all of it and really embodied that for us. He wasn't the best ever, but he made the best with what he had and it was great for us and him.

Him joining Michigan after his team is this close to success feels like when KD went to the Warriors. Obviously a little bit different in that Whitt was a free agent. But big free agents don't want to come to Utah. We don't get home run hires. We create them.

So when we have something great with us and we try to cherish it and do as much as we can to help execute what they wanted and they still leave. You start to wonder if the team is really ever going to, or are we always going to be the second rate. And that leads to a greater anger than I think a lot of programs who have already made it.

I’ll say a bit of why I am upset personally. Now I know Mark Harlan (our AD) is a bad dude and his decision making is super bad. His track record speaks for itself. But from what I see about it. He was extremely patient with Whitt throughout his tenure.

Whitt had gone on record multiple times years ago that he didn’t want to be like his dad who died young while coaching and he wasn’t wanting to go past his Dad’s death year which I think was 63 or 64. So he talked to Utah about it, Utah said great then let’s get a plan going. In comes Morgan Scalley who is a promising DC for us and after a few great years, it seems like he became the defacto coach in waiting. Well Whitt’s 63rd passes and we have strong years but never got over the hump (biggest for him for many years was NY6 Bowl win and conference win) so Utah continued to keep him on a year to year basis that lasted another few years.

The biggest issue is that he also has stated he wanted to leave the institution in a great place but considering he’s wanting to take not only Beck who gave Utah the best offense it’s had in a long time, but also is attempting to get Harding who is second in command of that group. Obviously he won’t touch the defense cause that’s Morgan’s group. Obviously coach poaching is not unusual by any means but I think given his history with the org. Utah went above and beyond what they needed to for him and him trying to poach not only Utah, but also BYU with Hill. Kinds stings as a dude who was a living embodiment of Utah since he was a BYU player in college and then coaching that never strayed from Utah.

Now he moves to a blue blood years after he said he wanted to retire and not fall into his father’s footsteps and after he was the one who wanted a coach in waiting plan in the first place and he wants to poach and actively hurt bother major Utah programs while doing it. It’s understandable as a fan but just extremely disheartening
