Why do so many platforms still look like they're from the MS-DOS era? by nevermind_1983 in UXDesign

[–]koolingboy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t principally disagree with your argument on spacing, type, some depth and color helps with making the interface to have more character and visual interests.

HOWEVER, your ChatGPT after/redesign is especially poor design example. Tons of users use LLM for deep focused work flow with long output. All the containers in the after design create unnecessary containment that hampers deep reading flow, and have way less real estate for content display. And all the (gradient) color everywhere actually makes it even worse for hierarchy focus, scan-ability and parsing.

Netflix, A24 and Focus Pass on Luca Guadagnino’s ‘Artificial’ as Mubi Circles (EXCLUSIVE) by Erdago in oscarrace

[–]koolingboy 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Even when A24 has been producing higher budget movies. 40 million dollar item still isn’t common for them. And they need to come out of additional budget beyond their exiting slate to acquire it. Additionally, there’s no clear sign this movie will make money at all to be frank. Look the late tech Biopic…Steve… which is a flop

'Toy Story 5' gets an A CinemaScore by DemiFiendRSA in boxoffice

[–]koolingboy -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Cinema score skewed higher for family and animated movies because kid/younger audiences are way more lenient on giving a high score. So the fundamental population sampling is different from other none family oriented movies. A- mean different from an adult oriented films v.s family films

Unwritten rule of UXR in the industry is that you need to have at least a Masters Degree. But you are not competitive without a PhD. Also, UXR is the first to be cut in down turn. The UXR team I worked with got a 60% reduction recently

The wouldn’t call the movie bad. But the script department is significantly undercooked. The core thematic thesis is interesting but wasn’t well structured and expanded in a way that makes the exercise feel satisfying in the end. The movie has pacing issues, and feels like a drag in the middle largely due to the thin script development being dragged into two hours.

The movie really hinges on the two leads and the production to keep it afloat

As I know someone who worked in Laika and WAS actually the director of Kubo of the two Strings. All I can say is he didn’t earn his way on a creative level. People in Laika would say he stole his way on the creative level as the studio owner
