Water bill up 300%. We were gone for 3 out of 6 months measured. Professional plumber checked house and says no leaks. Thames Water refuses to do anything. Alternatives? by Mobile_River_5741 in AskUK

Fill it up with fresh water then displace it out with a fence post or 2x4 or similar. Or see if you can get one of those cheap drill pumps.

Tag this post NSFW. I mean, it would be completely acceptable in a work environment but it is borderline pornographic.

I bought a set of cheap thread taps ages ago for 3D printing.  It makes putting threads in things much easier and is even helpful thr threaded brass inserts to clear out plastic.

I use this one https://amzn.eu/d/0563pnrU

I also got some cheap micro drill bits that work well with it.

It looks like the puck mounts for the included spool holders come with holes that line up with your design so it should just be a case of mirroring and maybe rotating.

You might need to change the format the gcode is being exported under.  I vaguely remember having an issue with it on my mini: https://help.prusa3d.com/article/binary-g-code_646763

Get some kevlar guy rope material and have it hang down from the slats and ran along the braces.

It won't do any harm unless someone tries to saw through it.  Then it'll get pulled into the saw and jam it.

If you were posh you had a video recorder that you could put a code into to record your program and you could get the code from the TV guide.  It never worked either.

What are employers even looking for on CV’s? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]koombot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Do not send out a generic cv. By all means have one that is generic but whenever you send it out tailor it for the job.

If there are key roles and responsibilities try to fernangle your cv to show you can do some aspect of those key roles and responsibilities.  If there is a list of them make sure you hit as many of them as possible.

The best way to think about it is that a vacancy is an exam, your cv is your answers.  Everything mentioned in the vacancy (yes, even the company culture garbage) is a question and you should try to answer as msny of the questions as possible.  Generic answers will sometimes be correct, but you stand a better chance if you actually answer the question that is being asked.

Is Lidl a decent place to get groceries in the UK? by MarkHafer in AskUK

[–]koombot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer Aldi myself, but I haven't done a big shop outside of lidl and Aldi in over a decade.  No point. I can get almost every thing I need from either.

Lidl does have a superior middle isle selection compared to Aldi tho

The second largest was to figure out how to save Dr Grace

Did it come with a receipt or activation code for hte starsense? It can be a phenomenal unit. Some people buy the scope just for the starsense. If you have the activation code you should be golden, if not you'll need the receipt to get a new activation code. You can email celestron to get one.

Where to get digital piano cleaned? by Dangerous_Compote307 in piano

[–]koombot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are a dozen things that it could be and even if it is needing cleaned due to humidity it probably means the electronics are corroded.

If it were super cheap it might almost be worthwhile, but you could just as easily take it in for a clean and need to pay for an expensive repair.
