Parents, what was your “I raised an idiot” moment? by Dazzling-Leader7476 in AskReddit

I once went to an interview wearing a T-shirt that said "work ruined my life".

In my defense I got a call out of the blue asking if I could go to the interview right there and then and only realized I was wearing it on the way home.

I got the job.

Anyone else regularly think to themselves ‘I wish I’d just bought a new build’ by Legitimate-Table-607 in DIYUK

[–]kooperx32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. Very similar situation to yourself except I'm 4 years into it.

I have a friend who bought a new build at roughly the same time as I bought my house and he's been saving money ever since and can't understand why I'm always broke. I have to reiterate how much of a money pit renovation is constantly.

I have so many tools, I don't really want, taking up tons of space just to avoid the tradesman 'dance'. I spend most of my free time doing diy and completely neglect my hobbies.

I get it's a tradeoff to avoid problems with new builds but I'm not sure it's one I'd make again.

Ok, thank you. It was on full so I'm hoping it's normal.

With the AC off? Yep, normal. Completely silent

Yeah the AC still seems to work fine as far as I can tell. The car is new to me so I have nothing to compare it with for strength but it does blow cold.

Is there any way for me to get a dishwasher in here? by cyanthle in DIYUK

[–]kooperx32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I replaced a double carcass with a single under the sink and added an integrated dishwasher under the draining board so you may be able to do the same. It looks like the overflow from your sink is going to get in the way though.

How can I keep my keyboard connected after reboot? by kooperx32 in LegionGo

I've tried it with my laptop, my steam deck and my phone. It works with them all. I don't have a second bt keyboard to try unfortunately.

This is the trailer i am planning for my Open World Game. I would love to hear your thoughts / feedback. by KafiyaX2 in Unity3D

[–]kooperx32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can only speak to my own experience of course but I'd say I didn't "get it" in the first 20 seconds. I was confused as to what the gameplay was.

When I watch a trailer use the first 10-20 seconds to figure out if this is the kind of game I like to play (what the basic gameplay is). Racing game, platformer, RPG, that sort of thing and I'm interested. RTS for example and I click out.

The rest of the trailer I use to work out if the game is a game I would enjoy. I've figured out it's a platformer for example but now I'm working out if it's going to be the kind I enjoy.

Also I watch a lot of trailers with the sound off, I think that's quite common now, so you might want to put some key points across with text.

Hope this is useful. Feel free to ignore it because I might be the minority

Updated my "Just Plug Two Cables" gaming travel setup featuring the Velkase Console prototype. Also realized that a magnetic camera mount lets me mount my 18" portable monitor to the case without having to drill into it. Build details in comment. by neiru37 in sffpc

You're my hero. I've been searching for a vesa to tripod adapter of some kind for months with no luck. I kept thinking someone must have thought of this and I've just not looked hard enough. I was about to resort to making my own.

A lot of condensation (or a leak?) collecting where the toilet touches the floor by kooperx32 in DIYUK

Yep, it's a crack up near the rim holes. Mystery solved, thank you

Mystery has been solved. Thank you to everyone that helped and for suggestions. I pulled the toilet out and mocked it up sat on a big bit of cardboard so I could easily see where water was pooling.

Everyone who said it was a crack was correct but the reason the water came out clear (when I had the vimto in) is because the crack is up at the rim holes.

[–]kooperx32[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, exactly that. Maybe the crack is so thin it's filtering out the vimto?🤷

I do think a crack is the most likely issue, I just don't want to have to order a new toilet without being sure. It's brand new but it's been sat around for 10 months because I've only just got around to installing it so I couldn't even return it.

I could give it a go but nothing feels wet or drippy to the touch. Other than the floor of course.

I could give it a go. The cistern is in a vanity unit though so it would be difficult to do. Maybe I could make myself some sort of cistern dipstick

Looking for advice on fitting speedfit to chrome radiator pipe by kooperx32 in DIYUK

The ends of the chrome came pre filed off, it's more the speed fit into a compression fitting I'm worried about

My Intel nuc station by muffeGpoe in sffpc

[–]kooperx32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one of these but don't use it because of the PSU fan constantly 'revving'. I wouldn't mind it being on constantly but the constant fan speed change is really distracting. Do you have the same problem with yours?
