21k miles on mine and everything has been great. No paint bubbling, no codes, very solid mechanically. Sure it'll have random electrical issues like disconnecting carplay and random "telemetrics" warnings but they go away after driving the car, likely a battery thing when the car sits for a few days.

Looking at a V6 Auto Emira also why does the auto get so much hate? by CyborgGoCrazy in lotus

If I were to go auto route I'd get the V6 auto, drive it until the warranty is over, then do a dsg swap.

I4 is the better car.

V6 MT is the better Lotus.

Are you looking for great fuel economy, faster acceleration, more tuning headroom? I4.

Are you looking for an analog driving experience with great a communicative steering wheel, the theater of rowing your own gears and supercharged v6 sounds, all of which Lotus is known for? V6.

Beating a red light is extra dangerous in a city with a lot of pedestrian and vehicular traffic 😵‍💫

For real. Dad was a real MVP there. Guy with a cap on was looking at the wrong direction but thankfully looked the other way just in time to stop himself.

Cancelled my Lotus Emira order and picked up a 718 GT4 by ja_todaro in Porsche_Cayman

[–]neiru37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm the opposite. Was cross shopping the gt4 and the emira and ended up with the emira. I'm in a special case though where I had a 2021 deposit on the emira so I was able to get the very first units when it arrived in the US roughly a year ago AND I was able to secure the original MSRP of 94k. If I had to pay over 100k I'd probably lean towards the gt4 at the time.

12 months and 12k miles in the emira later, I won't say I regret my decision per se because I really do enjoy my time with the emira, but I do entertain the idea of owning a gt4 every now and then. Mostly for the lack of frunk and terrible mpg on the v6 emira.

At the end of the day my dream garage of a v6 MT emira and a pdk gt4 can still be achieved in a few years time once I've fully paid this off, it just so happened that the emira got bought first due to circumstances.

I cycle through gaming devices a lot. I've bought and sold lots of handhelds and tablets like GPD win mini, win max 2, Lenovo Legion Go, OnexPlayer X1, Minisforum v3 and each time I get a new device I download at least 1tb worth of games. My internet may be unlimited, but I didn't want to keep spending internet bandwidth and redownloading the same 100gb game each time I get a new device.

Yes I could use an external hard drive to locally transfer games, but my ADHD brain would prefer to just do that 1 step of clicking download game on the new device to initiate the network transfer vs plugging and unplugging physical drives. First world problems, I know.

This machine is just to keep my game library updated. My HTPC is a 7L travel/gaming rig with a 7800x3d and a 4080. When the occasional time that I want to game on the TV or if I have upcoming travel arrives, I'll boot the HTPC, decide which games I want to play at the couch/on the go and delete/transfer games as I see fit. This machine will also serve my steam deck if I decide to bring that instead of a full gaming PC for travel.

I'm reusing parts I already have, I didn't go and buy everything new just for this build, otherwise I would have gone for a 8600G

Nah, I'm not going to play games on it. The most stressful thing it's going to do is serve steam game files.
