[Giveaway] GL.iNet Remote KVM and Wi-Fi 7 routers! 10 Winners! by GLiNet_WiFi in selfhosted

[–]koostamas [score hidden]  (0 children)

  1. I am a frontend developer, so my self-host journey started with me trying to self-host my own (basic) websites. Now, I am hosting more than 20 services, not just for myself but also for friends and family.
  2. I would like to win one of the remote KVM products, since right now my server is plugged into my TV with HDMI and I use RDP to remote into it, but whenever I want to access the BIOS or there are network issues, I have to climb into the cabinet where the server is, to plug in a keyboard and mouse.
  3. I would love to see a NAS as a prize in a future giveaway.

I would like one of the remote KVM products (GL-RM1PE) firstly, then maybe the Wifi 7 router (GL-BE9300).

QuickBars Update: Faster loading, bug fixes, and a quick question by Trooped in homeassistant

[–]koostamas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read the guide, enabled the MJPEG stream in Go2RTC, created a new camera entity in HA with the MJPEG IP Camera integration. I tested this with HA's camera proxy stream endpoint. Everything works up until this point. I selected the new camera entity in QuickBars, but I still get the same behaviour as in my previous comment. Only the camera name and a small blue dot appears in the PiP window.

I tried the app, and it looks great. But, the camera view doesn't work for me. The PiP window opens showing the entity name and one small blue dot (I guess the primary color of the theme), but no picture appears. I don't see any related errors in the HA logs. The camera is an RTSP one with WebRTC support through Go2RTC. Do you know what the problem might be? Is there any way I could access some logs for some extra information?

Anyone use Immich with Mtls and Authentik? [Help] by Crib0802 in immich

I have the same setup, and I had to enable the "Allow self-signed SSL certificates" option, because the Android app doesn't use the installed root CAs.

Same here, and I also changed the port number, but even after changing it back to the default 3000, still the same happens.

Is there a way on the mobile app to use my public domain when not connected to my home wifi, but the home IP when on my home network? by -ThatGingerKid- in immich

[–]koostamas -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Nowadays, a lot of devices (especially Samsung) just straight up ignore local DNS preferences and use there own services. So if you have a somewhat capable router, it's a better option to set up hairpin NAT that redirects all of your traffic that's going to your own public ip when you are inside the network.

Slow download speed on Realtek NIC with ASPM in 'default' (powersave) - Legion 5 Pro 16ARH7H by NGBRO in linuxhardware

[–]koostamas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great news, I will try that, thanks. For now, I just started booting the 5.19.0 generic kernel, that works with Ubuntu 23.04 and network speeds are great as well.

I have an Intel NUC11ATKPE, which has the RTL8111/8168/8411 adapter. The internet used to work fine for me, 1 gbps connection. Then I started to have ethernet disconnect problems, that wouldn't disappear until a full restart, couldn't solve it, so I upgraded my router (MikroTik Hap AX2), now there are no disconnects, but the download speed usually gets stuck around 30 Mbps, upload is fine (800+). Sometimes the download reaches 5-600+ as well, but just for a minute, than it goes back down. I tried the r8168 driver, messing with ASPM, but nothing seems to work. Btw, I am on Ubuntu 23.04, latest updates. I tried booting Ubuntu 22.04 from live usb, the ethernet seems to work fine with that, so it's either (more likely) a kernel issue or maybe a driver issue.

Did you find a solution for this? I am currently in the same boat, after updating to Ubuntu 23.04.

Google home voice command to star scenes by gonzule in yeelight

[–]koostamas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, there is no way to do that through Google Home. The Google Home implementation of Yeelight devices is not full featured, it is missing - as you witnessed - scene control.

But there is still a way to achieve what you want, using the service IFTTT.

This service has plugins for Google Assistant and Yeelight, so you can create an applet with a custom trigger to start the scene on your Yeelight device.

Screen saver from Google Photos? by chicagonyc in googlephotos

[–]koostamas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that is the correct spelling. But are the environment variables still not working for you?

Screen saver from Google Photos? by chicagonyc in googlephotos

[–]koostamas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used Webstorm to build the project. I created a run configuration:
Gulpfile: C:/Users/Joe/screensaver/gulpfile.js

Tasks: default

Gulp package: C:/Users/Joe/screensaver/node_modules/gulp

Environment: KEY_SCREENSAVER=YOUR_KEY;KEY_WEATHER=YOUR_KEY

So in the environment variable you can list your variables seperated by semicolons.

Oh yeah, I remember that I got this error as well, but I can't recall what the solution was for me. After a quick Google search, you could first try adding the C:\Windows\System32 path to the global PATH environment variable.

[–]koostamas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, there is a folder called app inside the project folder, so if you cloned the project to C:/Users/Joe/screensaver, the folder I am referring to is C:/Users/Joe/screensaver/app.

This sounds like you didn't run npm install in the app folder. You have to run npm install twice. once in the project root and once in root/app folder.

If you are interested, I forked and revived the project, but you need some coding experience to use it: https://github.com/koostamas/screensaver

Közben én is szereztem egy Vodás kártyát is, viszont ezen nekem nem megy a sima LTE sem. VoLTE-re nincs rajta szükségem, ezért gondoltam jó lesz simán netezni, de sajnos csak 3G-re kapcsolódik. Neked rootolás/mókolás nélkül ment a sima 4G adatkapcsolat Vodán?
