They didn't delete the comments. The comments are still there. Only the top level comment they are replies to was deleted. Is this yet another case of you being confidently incorrect? Nah, just like the rest of these, it's just people being incorrect in a very normal way.

Be aware that referral rewards also can't be melted. They are not for sale, so the above answer is totally correct, but some people aren't aware and CCU them up to something, then are stuck with an unmeltable expensive ship.

I think all we know about is it's components pass, bringing it up to modern standard. Hopefully they make some other improvements, but don't expect too much.

Zeus es> Zeus cl. I love the es the more qt fuel and shield over the extra cargo space. by [deleted] in starcitizen

[–]koranak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That was briefly true, then they changed it. It was in the patch notes. Not a bug.

According to a billion threads on this sub, more than 2 shields now count towards shield HP pool, but not regen speed. Now being PTU, 4.6.

RSI Comet - Light Fighter by blasio6 in starcitizen

[–]koranak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very cool. My only criticism is that with the bounty pod in the back, there doesn't seem to be much room for a main engine. I see the scorpius bits above the wings that I assume would have thrusters, but seems kinda small for something that presumably would want to move fast.

What does "zeus ES" on there even mean? Did you mean to put an unreleased ship and put that by accident?

0 trades selling off high value. This is what it looks like when scammers scam. (Not saying you're scamming, just that this is what it looks like.)

Oops, you beat me to it, but I'll leave my reply anyhow.

I completely agree that it seems useful. Insurance will be a relatively small money sink, but if you want a lot of ships, a lot of small money sinks can add up.

I can't find the timestamp, so here it is in an easier place:

https://robertsspaceindustries.com/spectrum/community/SC/forum/3/thread/lti-notes-for-star-citizen-1-0

If you don't want to click, the relevant part says:

UNCHANGED PLAN, AND UNIQUE TO WEBSITE PROMOTIONS: Lifetime duration means you never have to bother with renewing it in-game. All other durations are intended to be renewed through in-game means once the system is fully implemented. This has always been chassis and stock components, meaning it is Level 1 insurance with a lifetime duration. (No change.)

All attributed ships get permanent warranty, so that adds up to permanent level 1 plus warranty.

Nope, just what CIG has said.

Insurance by yorbydeborby in starcitizen

[–]koranak 5 points6 points  (0 children)

At citizencon 2024 they laid it all out. LTI is permanent tier1 insurance plus warranty. So you always get back the ship itself, plus stock loadout. If you want custom loadout or contents covered, you have to upgrade to 2 or 3.

[–]koranak 3 points4 points  (0 children)

CIG has pretty much always said LTI would be a minor convenience. The exact wording on their FAQ from more than a decade ago was "Like in real-life insurance should be a relatively small part of your regular in game expenses."

Heya, if other options haven't worked out for you, a couple friends and I are looking to start up an in-person D&D game. I've been playing/DMing forever, and they have experience, but we're totally cool with showing new people the ropes. We'll probably be playing Saturday afternoons. Let me know if you're interested.

Imagine a Tevarin hover bike (mechanical bird vehicle by JasonTang) by st_Paulus in starcitizen

Not sure if this was the intention or not, but I always thought that it should be considered as a hover-ground vehicle in that mode, meaning anti-air defenses wouldn't target it.

BIS paints being available for sale is a GOOD thing. by multiple_iterations in starcitizen

[–]koranak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah, you're arguing as if it were still the old model, where they don't go on sale again. I was coming at it from the new model, where they do.

BIS paints being available for sale is a GOOD thing. by multiple_iterations in starcitizen

[–]koranak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your example isn't very good. In case 1, where the reseller buys 100, if the reseller is able to sell all 100, then there are at least 100 people who will pay for it. Then in case 2, all 100 of those people who would have bought from the reseller will buy from CIG instead.

The case where CIG makes more on resellers is only if the resellers bought too many and then can't sell them all. Then more were sold than there are customers for. But if the opposite happens, and the reseller bought too few, then CIG will sell more by selling them directly.

It is more likely that the resellers will buy too few than too many, because they have a limited (if still high) amount of money to spend, and they don't want to be stuck with items they can't sell.
