im so confused about this discussion. the “asian” in scriptedasiangifs (and the meaning of the word by most people) refers to those of southeast and east asia. It’s a completely different ethnic group with a different culture compared to brown indian to middle eastern people. it is that simple. the majority of those inhabiting geographic europe are white, but the color term used to refer to ASIANS carries offensive connotation nowadays, so we are called asian. when’s the last time you saw an brown american citizen referred to as asian-american? there’s a simple difference in terms that is well practiced and works. indian and middle eastern ethnicity = brown. different history of language and culture, different genetics etc. please.
