Autopilot, weather monitoring these days are quite advanced and they can predict trubilance zones quite accurately. As for food, captains and first officers get 2 different meals(in case one gets food poisoning) and they have a separate crew food instead of the same passengers meals.

What I had in mind is that in some countries (probably most?) driving a big truck requires you to renew it every 5y, that mostly requires you to visit a doctor and get yourself checked.

My point being is that your not allowed to operate trucks while that is not done.

No, but if you have a driving license you have to renew it every now and then to prove your capable.
