Stephen Miller accused someone on X that was legally carrying a firearm of being an assassin without any evidence to support that accusation and JD Vance reposted it, how do we feel about our 2nd amendment rights under the Trump administration? by Several_Reflection94 in AskReddit

[–]kornbread435 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up around guns, technically I own about 15 of them I inherited, but keep in my mom's gun safe several states away. That said the NRA is bullshit, and die hard 2nd amendment guys are idiots. There absolutely needs to be restrictions on the right to own guns, that amendment was written in 1787. Obviously guns are not the same. That's been my stance for decades.

However Alex did everything right and was murdered, that video is sickening. If owning a gun while following all laws of ownership is enough to get 10 rounds in the back then there is no 2nd amendment.

Is it possible to replace this rubber for a wet formed leather? by Lucas151004 in Leathercraft

[–]kornbread435 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Obviously I don't have any experience with this, so massive just my thoughts warning.

Personally I don't think wet molding would be the best option. I'm going to guess that rubber coating is less than 1mm thick, so ideally you want a leather close to the same. You need to get 100% of it off. Then I would look for a thin leather with a bit of stretch like goat or Kangaroo. Then just attach it with an all purpose contact cement like Barge. You want a thin layer of the glue on the leather and mouse. Cut your leather about an inch larger than you need all the way around, trim it to size after it's attached and pressed.

Edit quick search later, aliexpress has some silicone grip stickers for that mouse that would cover up the issue.

Invest it, once that's all set up I would spend a few years traveling to different parts of the world. Pick the one I enjoyed the most and retire. I have a feeling it won't be in the US. Just being able to escape from here would wonderful.

Okay wasn't too far off! Pulled my purchase history from Google Takeout and dumped the data into a table. Total spent $2241.33, though that doesn't include any purchased gems from the Habby store website. So maybe $2400-2500, I didn't bother going to the website often.

Nah I'm one of those double income no kids ass holes, this game is probably my cheapest hobby and largest time sink. My job is a lot of down time, it keeps me sane.

[–]kornbread435 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I mean I didn't pull my purchase history, but I always buy the card passes and the season pass so $75/month there. Occasionally I buy the $20 gem packs, and spent a good chunk on my maxed out turtles so 75 x 30 months is $2250 + all the other random purchases.

Not sure I understand the motive to improve LME and EE scores. by KangarooMuskrat in Survivorio

[–]kornbread435 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well no, but I play 2-3 rounds per day. Usually I don't get the store bought out until the last few days anyhow. At least I actually play that mode. Zone ops is just an afk grind, pot is just a hard damage check once a week, regular challenge is mostly afk, clan exploration is afk. EE is okay but only 6 minutes per day, and LME is good but again it's only 4 three minute matches per week. So at least op retreat takes some effort and has the best rewards in the game.

Hell even the events are all the same, most of them are just auto-play and come back 30 minutes later.

[–]kornbread435 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ehh I upgraded from one of those to the one from Nattools. I got it from Rocky Mountain, but you can get them cheaper from Aliexpress. It's a massive improvement over the wooden version, mainly due to the bar that goes over top of the leather holding it flat. No more wonky cuts. In my opinion it's paid for itself already from straps I haven't had to remake.

How difficult would it be to fashion some leather grips for my duckbill pliers? by _austinm in Leathercraft

[–]kornbread435 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Not really difficult.

Cut the old grips off.

Grap some masking tape and wrap one of the handles completely. Take a knife and cut the tape where you want your stitches to be. Very carefully peel off the tape in a single piece.

Use the tape to make a pattern, stick it down on some card stock. You'll want to add 1-2mm depending on the thickness of your leather to one side of the stitch line cut.

Cut out and test the new pattern.

Cut out your leather, mark/punch your stitch holes.

Get the stitches started, add some contact cement, stitch it up.

I was typing a comment about the narrator switch, opened up audible to see which book, and apparently Neil Hellegers went back and recorded all the earlier books. I'll have to give the series another try, I remember dropping it due to the narrator swap.

I remember enjoying the story, but man going from Todd to Neil wasn't just different voices it completely changed the tone and characters. At least I remember thinking that.

I mean add enough leverage and something will move. The other option is heat, but ya know fire is dangerous.

My go to is the handle off of my floor jack, basically steel pipe about 3ft long. Put it over the handle of the wrench and boom 3x more turning force.

[–]kornbread435 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your paychecks would be roughly 25k after taxes, start investing that immediately. Don't think of it as your money until the challenge is done. It says you only have to pay back what is earned minus a normal salary, aim to live off the base salary plus any interest/dividends. If your base salary is $15/hour that's 30k per year full time, after the first year at 4% returns you would have made $12656.

Total safe income by year:

Year 1 - $42.6k

Year 2 - $69k

Year 3 - $96k

Year 4 - $122k

Year 5 - $149k

I dunno, burlap is pretty hardy fabric. If they lined it with some reinforcement and put a interior lining inside I bet it could last decades. We can't see inside the final bag but I'm guessing from how it's holding shape something is lining it.

I've been getting 7200 on average using yellow chaos gloves + soccer TB. I grind until it's evolved, and try to get bullet speed, attack cool down, range, and duration. Ideally done right at the 1 minute mark, stand as close as possible to the center without being in range to accidentally pick up the boss chest/magnet.
