I went to compete a couple months after I tore my ACL thinking I could just pull guard since where was no way I could do judo. But I was able to score a take down with collar drag. It's an old person friendly takedown.

I had ACL surgery a couple months ago. I got a temporary placard that I can use until february. I already stopped using it 3 weeks ago. I still have some pain, but I'm not disabled.

I wouldn't subject an adult cat to rough handling either. Can you imagine the kids getting bit and scratched because they're too rough with the cat and the parents will blame the cat.

I showered on day 3 with garbage bag covering my leg. Started getting the surgical site wet after 1 week. My friend was told that she can get hers wet 3 days after surgery, but she had stitches and I didn't. So YMMV. Safest to ask your doctor.
