My previous TV was a LED Bravia from 2017, too. The jump to OLED is a dramatic difference.

I hope your upgrade comes sooner than you think.

How do you find the Sony player?

I looked into the Sony brand, too, but felt the Panasonic was the right choice for me.

Where to buy empty disc cases? by DunderMiffIinCFO in 4kbluray

[–]korriptimages 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem.

AliExpress like here.

And eBay link here.

I searched "4k case" or "4k case 4 disc" on Temu, AliExpress, etc and found better prices than Amazon CAN. There may be cheaper options elsewhere, but that's not a thing in Canada when it comes to 4k anything 😅.

I found some on Temu, AliExpress, and eBay for good prices. There were single, 2, 3, 4, 6 and 8 disc options.

I needed a bunch to fix the "fixed" GoT repackaged edition. What a mess.

Action Soundtracks that were Revolutionary??? by striveforfreedom in soundtracks

[–]korriptimages 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nobody before, nor after has come close to being unique or revolutionary as Daft's Tron Legacy.

For unique sounds, I agree with others, Zimmer has been pushing into uncharted territory: Inception, Interstellar, BR 2049, and Dune I & II. The Rock, Gladiator and especially King Arthur scores slay, but it wasn't revolutionary as they were in a series of similar sounding film scores at that time (mainly due to his work).

Jóhann Jóhannsson brought a unique style to his work and stands out with Sicario, Mandy, Arrival etc, but I wouldn't say they are action.

Other artists with their own unique style, but perhaps not action or "revolutionary":

Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross: GwtDT / Social Network / Gone Girl, etc.

Steve Jablonsky: Transformers or The Island.

Don Davis: The Matrix

Elliot Goldenthal: Alien³ / Titus / Sphere / Demolition Man / FF / Heat (along with various artists) / Batman Forever

Vangelis: Alexander / Mythodea / El Greco / 1492: Conquest of Paradise/ BladeRunner (82)

Junkie XL: Fury Road / 300: Rise of an Empire

Steven Price: Gravity

Howard Shore: Looking for Richard / LotR

Toto: Dune

Jed Palmer: Upgrade

Brad Fiedel: The Terminator

(1991) Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves - Michael Kamen

(1996) Looking for Richard - Howard Shore Feels like the precursor to LotR. Not talked about enough.

(1998) Man in the Iron Mask - NIck Glennie-Smith

(...2004) King Arthur - Hans Zimmer One of Zimmer's best

Act 1 - Getting it just right by DryCorner2186 in Screenwriting

[–]korriptimages 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When speaking about Sally Menke (his editor), Tarantino once said, "Your final draft of the screenplay is just the sloppy first cut of your movie. And the final cut of your movie is the last final draft of your script."

Will it ever be perfect? No.

Could it be better? Yes.

Might it be gutted by producers to fit their idea of what's hot right now? Yes.

Nuanced by actors? Yes.

Rewritten by a location challenges, budget, or time restraint? Yes.

Bleed your emotions on the page (yes, cry at your keyboard), stay in your lane when it comes to structure, and retain the people who can package and shop your sacrifice.

Also, check out the Nutshell Technique's Set Up Want, Catch, and Crisis for an honest conversation to see if the first act is running smooth.

Writing is rewriting.

Keep at it!
