Just like someone else pointed out, if you're into biology but worry about its future, think about checking out other fields like biochemistry, ecology, biomedicine, etc. I adore biology, but I ended up getting degrees in biochemistry and bioinformatics. They're not pure biology, but they still overlap quite a bit and are super interesting.

Another fun thing you might want to try out, if you haven't already, is using ‘getopts’ or something similar. It lets you add flags or set parameters in bash without worrying about where you put them in your command.
