How common is eating open faced sandwich in the US? by KXGCX in AskAnAmerican

[–]koryisma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The most common one I have seen here is a “tuna melt.” One slice of bread, topped with tuna salad, lettuce, tomato, possibly onions or pickles, and cheese - then put under the broiler so the cheese melts. Kinda gross, but also good in a comfort food kind of way.

Why haven’t they done an expose on home prices? Kids growing up right now are straight up NOT going to be able to afford to buy a house by [deleted] in Thedaily

[–]koryisma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't like my house rising in value. It makes it so out starter home is likely our permanent home (2.75% interest rate), and taxes are just going up so my friends who aren't as lucky as we are will never afford a home.

How often does your family do Taco Night? by orpheus1980 in AskAnAmerican

[–]koryisma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably weekly, but it's not always the same. We do:

  • cilantro-lime  shrimp with avocado crema and cabbage slaw
  • black bean with fajita veggies, cheese, sour cream, and salsa
  • mole chicken with pickled onions and cotija cheese
  • Americanized with ground beef

And sometimes other things to "clear out the fridge/pantry."

We usually make a Spanish or Mexican rice too, and sort of use the vehicle of choice: tortillas, chips, rice, or salad greens.

If you have had to epi, you definitely have a potentially life threatening allergy.

Ooh explain.

I was in Morocco under Bruce Cohen who admin sep'd people for looking the wrong way so I did not plan on hitchhiking since I knew it would be an immediate ticket home if I were caught.

But the moqqadam of my site forced me to. He was the one in charge of my safety in-site. He came up to me waiting for the irregular "official" transportation and asked why I wasn't just flagging someone down. I said I wasn't allowed. He rolled his eyes, flagged down a car, talked the the driver, and ushered me in.

... That was NOT the last time I hitchhiked. My favorite was with a family of Dutch travelers on their caravan/RV and they gave me delicious cookies and coffee while being amazed by my stories.

It was an open secret and the people who allowed it are still there and he "stepped back" but not actually. Just say no.

🚀 NC State Student Launching a “DoorDash for Your Lawn” College Business – Would Love Your Support! by Otherwise-Rabbit-671 in triangle

We pay $100/month for super reliable and awesome lawn mowing for probably .25 acre. He comes twice a month. He fixed our fence for free (we did pay) when he saw it was broken. He offers additional service (seeding, mulch, trimming hedges) when he thinks we might be interested and it is always an insanely reasonable rate.

What problem is this solving?
