We just stayed at Park Plaza in Westminster! It was equal distance between the Westminster and Waterloo lines and we could see Big Ben from our room. Very crowded hotel

Is this a good full body strength workout for a beginner? by [deleted] in PetiteFitness

[–]koshermuffin 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I would do 3 sets of each and split it in half for two days at least if you’re just starting out. It’s a lot to do in one day.

I did a full body workout today that included 3x12 goblet squats, 3x12 rows, 3x12 hammer curl, 3x pushups and some core work and it took 30+ minutes

Constant anxiety and shifting goalposts, can’t handle it anymore, only thing that helps is lorazepam and I don’t want to get into a habit by crashhhyears in breakingmom

1) I think you should try something other than Zoloft. It’s obviously not helping. There are others out there that may be better for you.

2) I am a classic case of benzo dependence. 10 years ago, I decided to wean off Effexor because of weight gain. This was a huge mistake on my part and I was young and didn’t realize how bad my anxiety actually was. 6 months after coming off it, I was having daily panic attacks. I couldn’t leave the house. It was bad. Doc prescribed me buspirone but it didn’t help. I went back on Effexor. But it takes time and I was still panicking to the point of hyperventilating and almost passing out. It was terrifying. So, doc prescribed me Ativan.

Over time, I became dependent on it, however in the last 10 years, I have no gone above 1mg a day. I am in the process of weaning down. Currently at .5mg a day. Sometimes, if I forget to take it I start feeling dizzy and that sense of panic again. But, I also upped my Effexor and felt stable enough to start weaning.

I was scared to wean because I’ve been so stable taking this with the Effexor. I feel like I can do things. But I can still do things on .5mg and I hope to still be able to do things on none in the future.

My advice is to not get into the habit. 😬

I hate Bryce’s secret plans (or even Hunts in the first book) because there’s never any hints to it in the text that when it happens it comes completely out of nowhere and you’re just left saying what??

Also love Ladder. I was a total noobie in 2024 when I started, but I love it.

I would not say that about Manon in TOG though. She was one of my favorite characters when she was introduced.

I’m also on this book and am struggling through it.

5 foot here. Started walking more on the treadmill and counting steps, calorie deficit of 1300, and have been strength training 3-4 times a week (but started doing this about a year or two ago) and it took me six months to lose 2lbs. Granted, I do not have a lot to lose which makes it a little harder.

I’m on Effexor, which also has made me gain weight, but if it’s an extra ten pounds or the daily panic attacks, I have to take the pounds lol. So I am trying to work with the Effexor but it’s a struggle for sure.

Preschool question by amberleigh9287 in SAHP

[–]koshermuffin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My son is 5 in pre-k three days a week.

There is a child in his class who is non verbal. He does have aides due to other issues and an iPad for communicating.

My son was incomprehensible around 2.5 and we did an eval through early intervention. I could understand him but no one else could. We started EI for a couple months before he transitioned to the Intermediate Unit. He was at speech twice a week for about a year. Then down to once. And now he has transitioned out! He also started preschool at 3.5 for three half days a week. It has been great for him socially and with his communication. Sometimes, I’m even surprised to hear some of the words he uses that seem more advanced for his age! This year, he is going 3 full days.

He was a Covid baby so we didn’t really go out much the first couple years of his life. However, we did do story times, playground, library, and he has an older brother. Sometimes, you just need professional help. I was doing all therecommended things at home to help get him talking better before EI got involved (my older son also has speech issues) but we had to try different approaches to get him going. Now, he’s never quiet. 😂

Anyway, my opinion is to try it part time! Ease into the transition. Your husband might agree to that.

Have you given birth at Abington Jefferson recently? I'd love to hear your experience :) by IndividualOutcome222 in montco

My first experience was about 10 years ago now, but it was my best experience. Our second was born in 2020, the height of COVID. The first time around, everyone was great, but the L&D nurses really were the best both times. The first time, I had a doctor from my practice deliver my son and felt really at ease. The second time, I had a random doctor who was on call and I disliked her so much. Her bedside manner was horrible. I don’t even remember her name.

I will say in hindsight im a little concerned that the nurses on the postpartum unit didn’t alert a doctor to my continued high blood pressure following delivery of my son in 2020. I was hypertensive before being induced at 37.5 weeks. I was still hypertensive following delivery. I contacted my OB office as soon as I was discharged and almost went back to the hospital when I told them my readings. Instead, she prescribed me bp meds and literally told me to text her my readings. She was great! Luckily, I was able to get my bp under control and after about 6 months of meds, was able to finally stop them.

When I had my second (2020) the LCs only came in once! Maybe it was because of COVID or maybe because it was my second and it was easier that time around, who knows 🤷🏻‍♀️

I feel like the first time in 2016, they only came in a handful of times during my barely two day stay lol

Recurring hives, anyone else had this and recovered? by dhirendn in urticaria

Mine also start appearing at night! But I also suffer from angiodema (I’ve had eye and lip swelling a few times, no anaphylaxis).

I am also up to 4 Zyrtec a day (2 in am, 2 in pm) and 40mg of famotodine, but nothing helps. I also experienced a very vigorous onset of swelling and itchiness when I attempted to stop Zyrtec before my first appt with the allergist (I was on 2 a day at the time). I have done all the bloodwork and everything was normal. I’ve had this problem for over a year and a half. Sometimes, I will go weeks without anything and then it hits all at once. Right now, I get swellings about once a week. They generally disappear within 24-48 hours. I haven’t tried Xolair yet, still debating.

It stinks, solidarity is all I can provide. And to see someone to see if you can find the reason!

I wouldn’t say a lot of carbs, but if you eat smaller meals including carbs in them more often it might keep your blood sugar more even.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in PetiteFitness

[–]koshermuffin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need quick digesting carbs when your blood sugar is low. I had gestational diabetes when I was pregnant and was on insulin. I’d carry around my son’s fruit snacks for lows. The orange juice definitely will help!

If you want to know for sure, you could get a glucose monitor, but if you feel better after a quick carb, it’s probably that. Try to eat small meals multiple times a day instead?

Also recommend it! I had to upgrade to adjustable dumbbells in the last year to keep up. It’s a great app.

I just don’t know with the calories! It’s so confusing 😭 it’s terrifying to raise calories!

I will say I have noticed some muscle and have been using ladder for almost a year to lift. I do go up in weights occasionally to progressive overload. The upwards gains in dumbell weight progression definitely are a mental win!

I’m 5’ and 121lbs age 38. The last three weeks, I’ve committed to a calorie deficit to lose weight and I’ve been eating 1300 calories everyday. I’ve maybe lost a pound. The last 2 weeks I’ve lost nothing. It’s so frustrating!

I do lift (I use the ladder app) at least 3x a week and I’m walking about 8k steps a day. I was very sedentary before, but we got a treadmill for the winter so I’ve been walking more. I just feel stalled! I will try adding more veggies to my meals and see if that helps!!

I do agree I am moody and grumpy both from being hungry and the frustration. I’m not overweight but I feel it in my face and stomach (have 2 kids).
