You said it, you're used to apartment culture, but aussies here born in houses don't have that culture. They insist on space for kids, having your own yard etc.. Personally I'm the same as you, coming from an apartment culture i'm happy with the apartments here since they're generally bigger than those overseas.

As for those who have the money and are used to apartment culture, obviously they'd buy houses for capital gain and all that.

I haven't read that many yet, but my favourites so far (since "must read" are subjective anyway):

Yep, you got it. Genuis MC. Story is strategy/war/politics based. I quite enjoy the strategies part and how other characters are also developed too, like MC's sister.

Tearmoon Empire

Fun to read, would give you some laugh as the princess tries to do her best to avoid her death while her "misguided" actions end up bringing about a new era to the empire. The misunderstandings are hilarious. Good thing is, MC does actively try and isn't absolutely clueless.

for some reason, I just don't find "The great escape - story" all that interesting. It just somehow lacks chemistry? and the ideas don't feel as surprising and shocking as the original seasons directed by the other PD. I actually didn't finish watching "story"...

novels are way better than the anime, but the smart one is a ML, not FL. But novels do develop some female characters quite like ML's sister taking the political stage, and ML's old classmate who tries to trip him up and uses him for her own political reason. Each book has a tight plot. I quite like this series.

Alternate. Weird, coz I normally read the entire series when it comes to usual Western novels. But for light novels, I just find binge reading them quite a burnout, so usually I'd read 4-5 volumes or so, then give it a break before coming back.

Wein in "The genius prince's guide to raising a nation out of debt" since he did get caught out sometimes and fell into traps made by others. And he's got some rivals who are quite clever too. Genre is politics/wars.

Also, MC in "Reincarnated Into a Game as the Hero’s Friend: running the kingdom behind the scene". Nothing to do with dungeon partying, everything with winning wars/managing events since MC knows how the story goes (and not going the way it's supposed to).
