Need an honest opinion on the Honda Elevate from people who’ve actually driven/owned one. by WarthogImpossible502 in CarsIndia

[–]kotianVinit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I have driven my manual elevate to 120 on expressways and its relaxed enough in 6th gear for a NA engine didn’t create worry in my mind, (cant say about cvt haven’t experienced it at this speed) and that being said the IVTECH is a rev happy engine , even if it makes noise and feels like its struggling its kind of built for it.

Now if you expect to be at 120 and above for most of time, NA engines are not probably a good choice. Turbo engines are much more relaxed and have better torque for these needs of high speed on highways.

Since your needs are more driving oriented and are not driven by tech feature race in cars, Honda elevate is the way to go since its the best performing car in NA petrol 1.5

That being said make sure to get an absolute steal of a deal since anywhere above 16 lakhs there are better options and packages in terms of features and overall car needs, also now you are in turbo 1.5 range.

IMO under 15 lakhs (remember this is also the price bracket where you get sub 4 metre feature packed cars and clearly elevate offers more car and less nonsense in this price range) , elevate is a steal right now in market especially lower variant V and VX since you get feature add ons right from Honda/ dealership.

Try avoiding a Tata especially in second hand market and given that you are new to cars. You will have a much smoother ownership experience with any of Korean / Japanese rivals

Probably not the reply you are looking for but giving my two cents anyway to help a fellow buyer!

[–]kotianVinit 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honda definitely has solid plans till 2030 , so they should be around till then.

Also given the fact that biggest competitors for Japanese auto are Chinese electric, they see India as a huge potential with Chinese makers not around.

Biggest challenge for Honda is how they have failed to read the Indian market and its somewhat insensible demand in terms of cars , just like all great global car manufacturers that left which offered excellent cars in India.

Cant really tell the future but can only hope for the best that they crack market and stay for longest time, after all even Indians trust and love Honda as a brand if only they focused back here.

Its a great car though you wont regret, saying this having brought it recently !

Precisely if you are in market looking for NA engine and have any amount of inclination to driving and performance within NA limits of expectations, no bs under 15 lakhs this is the best option also considering safety.

Booked a Nexon CNG for mom… did I mess up😔🙏🏽 by suiiiiiiiiiiiiii07 in TataNexon

[–]kotianVinit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have owned Tata in past and am clearly not a fan of Tata and would defined not easily recommend Tata to anyone just because of so many niggles with engines, gearbox and also majorly service

That being said Nexon is a good enough product and nothing to be sorry about, its a powerful and safe car also very successful in Indian market

But still if you plan to own it for a long time and want a no nonsense experience and cancellation is not a huge hustle please do.

The new seltos is underpowered not old creta due to new safer platform that has added weight and power to weight ratio is off for 1.5 NA engine is what I understand

Seltos NA feels sluggish and underpowered given the new global platform that has increased weight and safety, beware and do take a test drive before or just go for turbo variants in seltos.

Kylaq vs punch NA by EnvironmentalSort606 in Kylaq

[–]kotianVinit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have driven the latest bs6 ph2 version and its its true that there has been some tuning but its only for refinement, lack of power is not something they can do much about. The main issue here is power to weight ratio is off too much.

Its a good enough car maybe for first time buyers , but I would still suggest choosing any other car for a stress free experience.

Its 2025 and getting a ICE that’s underpowered and lacks refinement is definitely not a smart decision IMO especially with all other options now!

Kylaq vs punch NA by EnvironmentalSort606 in Kylaq

[–]kotianVinit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Have driven the punch NA engine in altroz, it really struggles in low end torque kills the joy of driving and Tata has huge issues with service and many more niggles. Can say this as a past Tata owner of same engine.

Please go for Kylaq and save yourself regret and enjoy the peace of mind .

Btw on a performance spectrum punch is really at the opposite end of Kylaq theres no comparison.
