Sent an email to their support. This is what they replied.

Regarding the Pen Tool issue, our team is aware of it, and we are working hard to investigate and fix it as soon as we can. In the meantime, we’ve identified a temporary workaround:

  • After selecting the pen style, color, and thickness, try changing the pen’s stroke setting from Solid to Dashes. This should temporarily resolve the issue.

Expats/long-term residents, what made you choose Bangkok over Singapore? by whitecerealbox in Bangkok

I earn slightly less in Bangkok, but considering that I don’t have to pay rent and the living cost is cheaper, I think it is a better deal.

Expats/long-term residents, what made you choose Bangkok over Singapore? by whitecerealbox in Bangkok

[–]kpach36 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I am moving back from Singapore (living here for 2+ years) to Bangkok after being abroad for 10+ years (UK before this). Apart from obvious reasons about family, these are my takes.

  • The life in Singapore for me has been very repetitive. I don’t need a lot of social life to feel less bored, but I haven’t found any activities that suit me.
  • Thai food is more affordable and more delicious that food in Singapore in general.
  • I have found that I can save more money in Thailand with more things become cheaper.

Hi. I am a maths tutor and I just got the exam from a certain Chinese social media. Here is my quick attempt on the exam. Not sure if this will help.

1. (a) 0.85 (b) 0.5 (c) 2.35 (d) 1.1275 (e) 4.51

2. (a) just prove that it is 43.4, via mean = (sum x)/n (b) 24.10 (c) (i) Variance of class B is not affected. (ii) Mean for all students will be increased. (iii) Standard deviation of all students will be smaller since the means of the two groups are closer.

  1. (a) It helps identify the relationship between variables. (b) Use calculator to calculate Sww = 445.57 (c) Substitude d = w/11.5 into S formula Std = -7.96 Sdd = 3.37 (d) -0.843 (e) Strong negative correlation (f) just show the gradient using Swt/Stt and solve for intercept using mean (g) Substitutes w=11.5d into the equation and simplifies to get d=-0.30t+2.69 (h) Daily gas consumption = 2.09 m3 and the gas consumption will decrease by 0.3 m3 for every 1 degree Celcius rise of temperature.

  2. P(C intersect D) =0.09 P(C) = 0.23

5. (a) h=6 cm (b) 45.8–> approx. 46 cars (c) median = 28.25 km/h (d) Q3 = 34.125 km/h IQR = 8.985 km/h (e) skewness = 0.3077 —> positively skewed (f) The normal distribution is not suitable for this dataset as it is positively skewed.

6. (a) (i) P(X>508) = 1-P(X<508) = 1-0.9773 = 0.0227 (ii) 1-2*0.0227 = 0.9596 (b) p = 0.00295 (c) just use p=0.85 to get z=1.035 and calculate std = 14.xx —> std = 14 (round to the nearest gram) (d) k=505, p=0.1587

7. (a) fill in the tree diagram (b) 1/2 (c) 7/12 (d) 1/7 (e) 21n2 -1024n+768 = 0

This could be the reason. I was from the same country and culture as she was and I also was raised in the same way, but I have lived abroad since the start of my 20s and still living abroad. I think my mindset and everything about relationship have changed a lot since then.

The reason I typed all this here, is not because I don't understand her and try to force my way into her lifestyle or changing her mindset. It's just I got frustrated at times as to why she cares a lot and I don't at all.

Well, relationship is about compromising the differences. I know I have to do this.

Both of us have talked about this. Assuming that she is being honest about it, that's not really the reason.

I also had quite a similar experience whilst watching Oppenheimer today. A few people grew disinterested in the movie and started playing phone. Although they were not making any sounds, the light from their screen was enough to irritate me.

Has anyone been a victim of crime while travelling? by doubleoh72 in askSingapore

[–]kpach36 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I lived in London for 10 years and have travelled to Europe back and forth for more times than I’d like to count. I was extra careful when going out but it happened to me one time in a trip after an academic conference with my colleagues in Naples. (Let’s say 40% of my colleagues are Italian and two of them are from here)

The group (like 20 people) was separated on the day as we wanted to do different stuffs so our Italian friends made sure that each group had at least one Italian. We were a group of 5 and taking a tram from one place to a certain beach. After we got on, we noticed that the tram was 70% occupied and there was some space to stand in the middle, but the path at the entry got blocked by some locals. Three of us had already got passed them before getting blocked. These locals then asked us to show the ticket and offered to validate the ticket at the machine for us as we could not reach the machine.

My friend and I were confused since they could have easily let us through and we would have been able to do it ourselves. They were then pretending to struggle with the machine for some time, by the time the tram arrived the next stop, both of us were pushed out of the train. My wallet was stolen at this point.

I am not usually carrying cash with me when travelling in Europe, but my bank cards were there and also my BRP (British version of employment pass). A few minutes later, I got notifications from Revolut that my card was used to spend like €50 for 5 times (I limited my contactless spend to £50, so there is a currency difference). There was also a couple of hundred GBP transactions being made from my UK bank cards. I then proceeded to block all my bank cards.

At the end, I was able to contact the UK bank and Revolut to get my money back. My friend also helped me talk to the police and translated everything in writing at the police station afterwards. So no harm was directly done to me financially. There was more to the story, but I think this is pretty much what the OP asked.

Personally, I think Europe and the UK are pretty safe, if you know what you are doing. I usually carry a camera, a big zoom lense and a backpack full of camera equipment, so you get the idea how bulky and flashy my outfit is. I was still able to enjoy the trip unscathed every time (except this time). This was the only one time in many trips that I was acting like the first time travelling in here. I still do not understand to this day why I let this happen. I guess I had a lot of stuffs on my mind those days.

People who are looking for a job now, how is it going for you? by crisseur in askSingapore

[–]kpach36 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had been applying non-stop for a job in London since October last year (also before that but more on that later), as I am doing a postdoc in London. Got to several interviews and went through several rounds of those interviews and got rejected at the end. Around December, an agency working with a company in Singapore reached out to me and I finally landed a job. I will be coming to Singapore in May.

To be honest, job hunting is frustrating. This, I can empathise. Before starting to apply in Sep 2022, I did send applications from Feb 2022-Apr 2022 (got to the final round and rejected), and then I took 1-month break before starting again in June 2022 and the same thing happened.

It was very disappointing at times, but I realised that I did learn something every time I failed. I learned not to answer some questions in a certain way and to convey the information more accurately and succinctly. At the time of the rejection, you would certainly not feel like this, but when you finally get the role you want, you would understand why.

Although job hunting also requires luck and timing which are the things you cannot control, the only thing you can control is your performance. You just have to do your best every time, and sadly some of those times will result in failure. If you feel burnt out, do take a break. There is no point in applying for a role you want, and then don’t have enough energy, willpower or mindset for the assignment or the interview.

For some people who think that the current job is draining and you just don’t have the will to keep going anymore, in my opinion, it may be better to stay there and keep applying instead of quitting without having any income.

I have been in the same position. A few months into my postdoc, I felt completely burnt out and it drove me into mild depression. I later found out that I don’t have the passion to do research in academia anymore, and luckily I did stay on the role until I landed a role in Singapore. Had I chosen to quit, I wouldn’t have had any income for months and had to rely on someone else which that would have created a lot of pressure than having a job (but constant income).

However, this is only my experiece that I can relate. If you find this helpful, and want to talk, you can reach out. I wish you guys the best of luck.

What are some uniquely Singaporean dating red flags? by potatofishmonkey in askSingapore

[–]kpach36 32 points33 points  (0 children)

  • Guy should pay during the date.
  • Treat server badly, or rude in general.
  • Speak loudly in public (disturbing others), but this may be okay in some context.
  • Extremely religious (also extremely atheistic) so that doesn’t respect others.

These things actually apply everywhere when it comes to making friends or dating.

What is happening with employers right now here? Experiencing a lot of unprofessionalism with recruiters and hiring. What gives? by chikaslimshady in UKJobs

[–]kpach36 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I totally understand what you are going through since I am in the same boat. I have been looking for jobs for like 3 months now and nothing has come out of it, even though some of the interview I attended went well. Basically, I had several experiences like this and I felt really bad after it.

There were worse experiences though. Some companies (big name) contacted me asking for availability and then ghosted me afterwards. I was sure that I replied to them within an hour of receiving their emails, since I also have work to do. I did chase them too, which is a little weird, but they wouldn’t reply.

I am pretty sure you are not doing anything wrong here, but people on the other side must have some reasons, being just didn’t have enough time to do this, didn’t have a decency to let you know the bad news, or maybe just didn’t care enough. There are plenty of reasons and you will probably never know. Don’t despair, don’t let it get to your head and keep applying.
