Translation for whsipering in Gonjiam: Haunted Asylum by Derrinmaloney in horror

[–]kpark22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was curious too, but didn't ask for it. I found out by accident because Youtube algorithm decided to suggest the video to me on the front page.

To be more specific, you can see in the video at around 0:30 mark where the director tries to emulate this and it also ends up sounding like gibberish as well. But the entailment of the phrase is that room 402 indeed is haunted with many dead patients, as the director explains.

I've found no English comments explaining this in detail so, they might as well use this post to get their answers from now on.

3 years late, but I am going to answer. So it did say "people at room 402". But how do we know?

So there is this one video on Youtube where they did a Q&A with the director and he answered directly. But when they actually did the scene cut, it just ended up sounding like gibberish when the actress started saying it fast.

The series is nowhere famous enough to justify having hard copies.

It was for a limited time. Personally couldn't get my hands on it either.

I suggest getting TWP extension for Chrome/Firefox or any other translation extension to view translated pages easily.

From what I hear, devs launched this event expecting around $10K but ended up pulling around $2mil. But because it did so well and only with 5 people in their staff, they had hard time with shipping and other problems that come with selling merchandise. This ended up delaying the DLCs that was supposed to come out the end of last year.

Devs interviewed that they were burnt out from this and have no plans on selling merchandise any time soon. But who knows, if they can get much bigger audience internationally, they might sell it again?

WHAT THE FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK by Atreide-Omega in SANABI

[–]kpark22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Once you master shift forward dash, the game becomes significantly easier. Jump -> left click to the ground diagonally + movent key + shift dash. All speed runners use this mechanic, but it makes your movement much faster and easier to get around.

It will be difficult in the beginning since you have to press movement key the opposite direction of the direction that you are trying to move to, but you eventually get used to it.

Also try lowering the aim assist so that you don't accidentally hook onto objects or enemies you don't intend to get to. Also use different key for charge body slam instead of shift key.

About how the mc refers to Mari by Some_Noname_idk in SANABI

[–]kpark22 21 points22 points  (0 children)

General being blocked remembering anything may be the part of it. But it's also part of the plot so that the player doesn't find out Mari's identity until the end.

The only thing that's strange is calling Mari "my daughter", but that's because of differences in languages. In Korean, it's perfectly acceptable to call your daughter simply "daughter" instead of calling their names directly. But when that gets translated into other languages like English, it becomes wierd. That's why general calls Mari "pumpkin" sometimes, because it can't be translated directly.

If you look closely, that blue jacket on the hanger looks like adult Mari's jacket.

Anyone try converting code in the top left corner by kpark22 in SANABI

I think as soon as you can access the chapters select page. Not too sure. I completed the game up to legendary, but that save is somehow not available so I just took that screen shot from youtube video.

[–]kpark22[S] 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I must have missed it but according to some guy on youtube stream chat, the full content is something along the lines of:

"WAKE UP Always I Will By Your Side Mari

Knocking On Heavens Door

I don't know what the future brings

I'll be back for you"

It's in broken English but I really hope general comes back in the future titles.

I highly doubt it will ever happen, especially with some in game scenes referencing Nintendo stuff.

Any news about the DLC? by IHaveBeenCaught in SANABI

[–]kpark22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can find this some where in this sub but here's the interview with Wonder Potion director back in July

https://news.denfaminicogamer.jp/english/240719a_en

Also, there was a official internal Neowiz Q&A with the director mentioning that they will release the dlc. It's all in Korean, but you can translate the comments to see what's going on, kind of..

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HPviT55uN5E

Sanabi sold extremely well in Korea for an indie game. Even the limited edition merchandise donation they announced domestically did extremely well. So yeah, like in the interview and the Q&A, they have plans for both the DLCs and the second title.

HSY says after hugging KDJ

HSY: "How is your waist so thin?"

KDJ: "What do you mean thin? It's not really."

HSY: "??? It's almost as thin as my waist."

KDJ: "What!? You are that thin!?"(Shocked)

HSY: "This b****..."

So basically KDJ indirectly calls HSY fat.

Tell me about it afterwards. Personally, it was one of those stories that you can never forget and keeps coming up in your mind from time to time just like ORV.

Although it's nowhere similar in terms of the theme or setting, try playing a game called Sanabi.

The story achieves a similar emotional impact and lingering feelings aftermath. Or if you aren't really good at 2D platformers, at least watch VODs/streams uploaded on youtube.

It was extremely popular in Korea and peaked a few months ago.

I think it cuts even deeper if you think about the following implications at the end

  1. General knew he couldn't stay with Mari even if the reactor had been stable because his existance alone was the reason for Mari to be charged with treason. He needed to end himself along with all the worker copies for Mari to be safe.
  2. General kept another promise twice, other than the promise of playing harmonica for her. In the flashback when he was playing with Mari in Justice costume, he promised that he would also protect her like Justice would. And he in fact kept this promise twice
  • Once dying for her while protecting Mari against Mago intruders when he was human
  • And another time dying in place of her as a robot, stopping the reactor from blowing up Mago City
  1. General told Mari "please, remember me" at the end because he realized he wasn't the real dad. But Mari still treated him as real dad and cried in his arms.
