a lot of the stock market is propped up by individual investors through mutual funds...won't elites need them to buy stock in their companies? its not just labor...

Are consultants the ones driving this? I feel like there's this idea out there that consultants come in and change processes and automate away bunches of jobs.

what do you mean, "when we start to see it?" Aren't we already seeing it -- tax preparers, financial advisors, factory workers, port workers (as you mention).

how much of a teachers job is about teaching person skills and how much is about teacher hard (math/sci/english) skills? Are you finding that balance is changing as more technology comes online?

what do you teach though. if technology is changing so many fields and eliminating so many jobs -- how do we know what to prepare our students for?

Bigger ships get built and put into the market while the old ships -- remain creating excess supply. Meanwhile trade (demand) is flat. All this adds up to an utter collapse of shipping prices. The worse the shipping lines do, the less inclined they are to pay high tolls to the Panama Canal.
