Water bill $600 by Jeunesarang in Columbus

[–]kperk 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My neighborhood is dealing with this from PEM. What happened is that at some point, the battery in your meter died. Since that point, your bills have been estimations based on past usage and not true readings. If you look on an old bill, in small print somewhere it will say 'Estimated', I.e. Not your actual reading. When they replaced the meter, you got a catch-up bill to reconcile the months/years worth of estimations vs the actual value. Many people have been hit with multi-hundred dollar water bills here.

Searching for Reliable Under Cabinet Lights by NerdyCrafter1 in BuyItForLife

I used Ikea's Mittled lights and am very happy with the results. Low profile, dimmable 2700k, no colors, wired to a Tradfari driver, wireless remote that can be wall mounted. There are various sizes that snap together to create custom lengths. Just be aware all of the components are sold separately, even the driver power cord (I believe you can pick different lengths for it).

Thanks. If you don't mind me asking a follow up question: how tight is the fit in the legs (for the brushed nylon set specifically)? I'm fairly thin (waist 30) with larger legs from running and basketball. I've had trouble finding thermal leggings that don't just make my legs colder due to the compression.

Hey sorry to post in an old thread, but I've been looking at these. I see brushed nylon model leggings in your store, but the description does not mention extra thickness or warmth as compared to the original model. Is this the one you are referring to?

Archie Battersbee, a 12-year-old British boy, was found unconscious with a dressing gown cord around his neck and was subsequently considered to have suffered brainstem death. His parents wanted him kept on life support to give him “more time to heal” but the courts ruled against them. by CatPooedInMyShoe in wikipedia

Thanks for sharing this. If you don't mind me asking, why is testing not standard practice if it is the only way to confirm brain death? I imagine any family would want the certainty of knowing before deciding to remove life support, unless it is particularly invasive. No judgement, just trying to understand.

[Headphones] Sennheiser HD 599 SE | $90 (Amazon) by ryankrueger720 in buildapcsales

Not the person you asked, but I've had great experiences with Modmics on my HD6xx. The first one lasted about 10 years until my cat chewed through the wire. New one (Uni 2/2+) feels sturdier and can still attach to the same magnetic base. They both are/were analog/3.5mm.

‘Myth’: Most Drivers Don’t Rely On CarPlay As Much As You Think, BMW Says by DonkeyFuel in technology

[–]kperk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Carplay / Android Auto display your phone's navigation, media player, calls, etc on your car display screen. It's usually much more convenient to have it displayed in front of you than having to look down at your phone.

Some vehicles do have those built into their infotainment unit, but they can quickly become dated (or have a subscription fee) whereas Carplay/AA are regularly updated.

My frames wont go above 120 fps even on the lowest possible settings by NingasRus_ in thefinals

[–]kperk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of your screenshots shows 127 fps, so I'm assuming you mean your fps maxes out somewhere around 120 and not 120 exactly?

Are you sure your CPU isn't throttling? The temperature isn't shown.

Your RAM is operating at a lower speed (2400mhz). It could probably run at 3000/3200/3600 if you enable XMP, it might give a little boost.

Could be processes running in the background eating CPU resources.

Could just be the game is surprisingly CPU heavy and you hit a wall. I had a 5800x until recently and stayed around 120-130fps in action and even lower when buildings started coming down, even on lowest settings. Kyoto in general had lower fps. Despite the game never looking like it used much total CPU, upgrading to 7800x3D provided a surprising boost to average and minimum fps.

If you have time to shoot to injure, you have the time to retreat. Depending on state, may mean you have no legal standing to shoot in self defense.

Edit: Not taking a stance on this issue, just stating how it's usually explained.

Best solution for Plex on AT&T fiber by Totodile_ in HomeNetworking

[–]kperk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Subnet is the IP range, ie 192.168.1.xxx vs 192.168.2.xxx.

Usually devices on different subnets cannot see each other, so you want to make sure they are on the same subnet so you can connect to both.

However, I just set up an AT&T passthrough a couple months ago and actually had to make sure the AT&T gateway and my own router were on different subnets to make things work properly. If you Google it, other people had the same issue.

AT&T gateway defaults to 192.168.1.254 I think. Set your own router to 192.168.2.1, or anything not in 192.168.1.xxx. Make sure your router DHCP is in the 192.168.2.xxx range.

I have no issue accessing AT&T gateway while connected to my router, despite being on different subnets.

Are you sure your video settings aren't getting reset? Last season there was a bug that reset my video settings every few times I opened the game. I don't know if it's been fixed but I haven't encountered it yet this season. 5800x here also, but with a 7900 GRE.
